I have a political dilemma, need advice...
I just read in my local weekly paper, the Peshtigo Times, that someone I knew and was very good friends with from high scholl is running for an alderman's seat in the City of Milwaukee. My friend, however, is also a PNAC type neocon Repug who worships the very ground that minibrain walks on. I hapopen to know some information about an incident shorlty after graduation, that if it wer to get out, would surley destroy his chances for victory. As a Democrat, I feel that it is my duty to ananomously inform either one of his opponents or the media about this incident. However, as a friend, I also think that it would be best to keep it under my hat. I don't know what to do, people. What do you think that I should do?

1. I can't answer this for you nor can anyone else
you need to do what your own ethics will allow you to live with.

JC: please read your sig line, think what 'snitch' means to you, and do the ends justify the means?

Then, absolutely 'do what your own ethics will allow you to live with."

2. how old are you?
If you've been graduated for years who cares? Let it be, whatever the incident he may have changed.

4. jesus you're younger than me?
Okay, what was the incident? Racism? Homophobia? IF you truly believe he's a good person and it's just an incident who cares. But if a bigoted, gun toting, child molester was nice enough to give you a ride home...who cares? He's a bigoted, gun totin', child molester...ya dig?

5. It was a theft.
The person in question was involved in a robbery, and through his political connections only got away with a slap on the wrist. Someone else pulled a similar robbery a year later and got sent to prison for three years.

6. well I kinda think you should report it
This isn't a friend loyal to the death, this is someone from high school for cripe's sake.

One of my friends fabricated evidence in his testimony in Congress against Mary Landreaux. If he had succeeded in having her unseated and Woody Jenkins put in her place...hell yes...I would have had to report what I knew about his confabulations. Fortunately Congress laughed him off as the nut he was (and is), so he got a free trip to DC out of Jenkins' pocket and no harm done.

If this guy is likely to achieve power and start making people's lives miserable, leak the information. If it's just an ego promoting scheme to draw attention to himself, maybe you won't have to speak up. But I'd keep an eye on it.

7. If i do report the incident...
Edited on Wed Dec-24-03 06:42 PM by JonathanChance
The question is, to whom do I report it to, the media or an opponent?

Well, he got his inspiration for going into politics shortly after meeting minibrain in person a few days before 9/11.

8. If he is truly a PNAC type neocon Repug
he would do it to you in a heartbeat. Friend or no friend I say leak it to his opponent and let his opponent dig into his criminal records. We've seen what the neocons are capable of, and I for one am sick of it!! Leak it!!
