1. Dress her like a naughty girl. Let her color her hair hair. Buy her boots and flattering pants. Remind her that whether she wears ratty jeans or designer dresses, she is a goddess among women, because every guy in the lounge surely will.
2. Teach her to expect respect. Worship isn't a bad goal, either.
3. She should not be allowed to play alone with boys. This is for the boys' protection.
4. Teach her how to avoid bodily function threads except when the mods appear to be distracted or a copycat is too good to pass up.
5. Teach her to be an intelligent listener and an articulate conversationalist by listening when she is interesting, and talking to her rather than talking down to her.
6. Teach her to hold out for Mr. Right and not look for a replacement Daddy.
7. Teach her to have the proper heroines. Suffragettes, feminists, any women that kick ass and take names will do.
8. Teach her not to be too forward to boys. Go ahead, try. Fat lot of good it'll do you.
9. Do not show off her talent to others. They'll notice it on thier own if they're worthy of her time.
10. Get over the idea that you let her do things. She is a force of nature.
11. Be her partner. Work toward her goals and enlist her help in yours, so that she's accustomed to partnership when she starts pursuing relationships.
12. Remind her she can do anything, then prove it by helping her to make it happen.
13. Teach her the sanctity of the body. Her body is a temple and she is the goddess. Remind her that anybody who has a problem with that can go worship someplace else.
14. Teach her to do be self-sufficient. There is nothing sexier than a woman who can mend an outfit, change her oil and cook a great meal from scratch, except for the woman who does all three in one afternoon.
15. Surround her with empowered women and men who love and respect them.
16. Help her find work she enjoys.
17. Give her responsibilities in your home. Model equal division of labor.
18. Teach her when to raise her voice. Go wave a protest sign every now and then, it's good for a girl.
19. Get her used to the idea of controling her own economic destiny. Go get a bank account, learn to budget, learn to stretch a dollar and to pass along a few bucks to organizations that work for a better future.
The most noble goal that parents can set for their daughters is to help them become powerful adult women. The second most noble goal is to lead them to be naughty girls, for one of the great needs of our generation is women who completely fucking rock.
