First snowfall!

...and boy it's sure coming down outdoors! Chances are the ground is still too warm for a sizable accumulation, but it's here! I hear Buffalo, NY got hit pretty good this afternoon.

1. Have you lived in that part of the country for a while?

I know western New York state is famous for lots of snow, but when does it usually start?
I remember when I was a kid, growing up west of Boston, when my friends and I were playing outside on the day before Halloween and we got very excited when it began to snow. It was one of the earliest first snowfalls of the season that I've experienced.
