Who remembers 7-11 Superhero slurpee cups?
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 09:53 AM by wyldwolf
They came out around 1975 and featured not only well known superheroes but more obscure ones like Cosmic Boy from the Legion of Superheroes.

1. I do...
Had quite a few then they disintegrated. What a shame.

2. Ah....memories....
I still love Mon-el, although it's M'onel now.

And there's poor little Kara Zor-El (the one true Supergirl) before she was so rudely killed and wiped out of existance.

3. What's the deal with Mon-el?
Last I knew, he was in the Phantom Zone.

4. It's the Stasis Zone now....
To make a long story short the DC universe was "rebooted" and the Legion was restarted at that point. M'onel was a 20th century adventurer named Lar Gand from the planet Daxam who had pretty much all the same powers as Superman, but lead is fatal to Daxamites and the clone Superboy that exists now sent him into the stasis zone to save his life from lead poisoning and he spent a thousand years there. He was released by Superboy when Brainiac 5 of the Legion created a serum to cure him of his lead poisoning. Unfortunately for Lar, he found out that his 20th century exploits had become something the stuff of a religious/mythical nature and he in order to avoid trying to live up to the myths about his past and to spare himself from the trappings of hero worship, he took the name M'onel which is an old Martian word for "He who wanders".

And now he is pretty much a member in good standing in the Legion in the 30th century.
