Favorite Eurhythmics number?
I hope somebody'll do a poll, but it probably won't be me since I regard all but about three of their songs as anathema. Those three are "Would I Lie to You?," "The Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves" (with Aretha unless my brains have finally totally leaked out of my ears), and "Missionary Man." Of those, the latter is the only one that would make the desert island disc.
And you?

1. "Would I Lie to You" is the very best of the very best.
GAWD, I would never want to be on Annie's Bad Side. :D

2. "Love is a Stranger"
Great use of the multitracked vocals. Her voice fits it so well.

The video shows Annie Lennox at her mind-numbing hottest, although the copy on YouTube sucks (satellite glitches and all), unless someone improved it.

I liked her drag stuff so much better than the stuff the big hits, I also loved "I need a man". I HATE the song "Sweet Dreams". The lyric sucks. How the hell did that song become a hit? Was it just her andgrogyny? Because there is nothing else to it. I think the lyrics in Love is a stranger are masterful, and so freaking true:

"Love is a danger
Of a different kind
To take you away
And leave you far behind
And love love love
Is a dangerous drug
You have to receive it
And you still can't
Get enough of the stuff

It's savage and its cruel
And it shines like destruction
Comes in like the flood
And it seems like religion
Its noble and its brutal
It distorts and deranges
And it wrenches you up
And youre left like a zombie

Its guilt edged
Glamorous and sleek by design
You know its jealous by nature
False and unkind
Its hard and restrained
And its totally cool
It touches and it teases
As you stumble in the debris

And I want you
And I want you
And I want you so
It's an obsession...

Better video finally posted// just to look at her in drag is fulfilling...

6. The Walk
An album cut off Sweet Dreams. Has just the right balance of sex, melancholy, and synthesizers.

That whole album is really good, except "Jennifer," which is just filler.

13. "Walking on Broken Glass" was a solo effort
Or so I thought. Not that there's much of a difference.

18. You're right - but there's basically no difference
It's like 10,000 Maniacs, or solo Natalie Merchant. How can you tell?

27. Who's That Girl
The language of love
Slips from my lover's tongue
Cooler than ice cream
And warmer than the sun
Dumb hearts get broken
Just like china cups
The language of love
Has left me broken on the rocks

But there's just one thing
(Just one thing)
But there's just one thing
And I really wannna know

Who's that girl
Running around with you?
Tell me
Who's that girl
Running around with you?

The language of love
Has left me stony grey
Tongue tied and twisted
At the price I've had to pay
Your careless notions
Have silenced these emotions
Look at all the foolisness
Your lover's talk has done
