Poll question: Airport/Airplane Toilets
What do you do?

I don't like the airplane toilet merely because I prefer the window seat and hate crawling over people. But I will, rather than risk peeing myself.

I LOATHE public toilets because they are usually filthy. Airport toilets are among the worse.

So -- you?

1. I'll use the airport toilet if I can find a stall with a pee-free floor
after I wipe the seat down with the disinfecting wipes I keep in my purse.

I try to avoid the airplane potty, because a little bit of turbulence can make it a miserable experience.

Use em early and often, by the end of the journey
the guys pee all over the floor, then your shoes stink for the rest of the flight.

WHY CAN'T MEN AIM???????????????????????????????? Christ on a stick!!

3. Some airport loos are pretty clean; some not so much.
The newer ones with the autopotties are much better, though they are kind of scary. I don't mind airplane lavs -- they are usually pretty clean -- except for the hassle factor of getting to and from them (I also prefer window seats), and to some extent the idea that there are at least 100 people watching you as you head for the can.

6. Airplane Restroom Ratings:

And here's a somewhat grosser, though amusing, report about an alleged urban legend about getting stuck on an airplane toilet (investigated by Mythbusters), http://www.poopreport.com/Intellectual/Content/Skytoilet/skytoilet3.html

And finally, if you don't want to use either the airport loo or the airplane lav, check out the "Gotta Go": http://www.skyhighairlines.com/catalog.pdf

8. One of the funniest websites out there.
At work one day a guy found this site, and a bunch of us gathered in his cube reading this "catalog" and laughing so hard we could hardly stand up. It was especially funny for us because we work for an airline...

10. I've always had an irrational fear of airplane toilets...
I think that I'm going to get sucked out of the plane or something silly like that so I tend to avoid them. Plus I usually fly on the east coast so my flights are usually no longer than 2.5 hours and I can hold it for that long. However I did have to bite the bullet and go a couple of times on a flight to Vegas, 5 hours in the air and numerous cocktails will do that to a girl.

11. When ya gotta go, ya just gotta go.

Airport toilets are better than most of the rest areas in New Jersey.

Did ya ever notice that Mapquest drive time is way off because it doesn't figure in bathroom breaks. The older ya get the more stops ya need.

Besides sitting still for hours is very unhealthy.
