So I was at the beach and some kid had his favorite toy washed away by...
the tide.

I look around and see a man and woman watching the kid cry and they laugh and point at the poor kid. What's with some people?

1. Who knows?
But, how is that different from bagging on fans of a ball club after they lose?

6. The kid was 3, I'd think sports fans would have a tougher hide...
for the most part.

34. It's completely different.
Adults should know the difference between real life and a fucking game. It's like how people in the crowd at the OU/Texas game last weekend were crying after OU lost. It's stupid. It's a fucking game that will have nothing to do with the rest of your life.

3. I have a story that almost can match that...
My (now) husband and I were at The Ballpark at Arlington (Texas) which has, if you're not paying close attention, a parking lot in which it is surprisingly easy to lose your car.

We were wandering about... I think we obviously looked lost.

Up pulls a suburban. Down rolls the window on the passenger side and a blonde, Texas suburbinite-type sticks her head out and gives us this cocky little look.

She then says, "Don't you hate it when you LOSE YOUR CAR?" The suburban, driven by her getaway driver for Gratuitious Snark Crimes, then sped off. Mr. Writer and I were taken aback by this beautiful example of Texas hospitality. Yee-hah. :eyes:

11. mique
Mique. n - pretentious spelling for Mike. Indicative of someone who should get a life and stop correcting the spelling of others when their own is nothing to write home about.

22. Actually, no - 'deserts' are things you deserve, desserts are things
you eat, and deserts are things with camels. Deserts and deserts are pronounced a bit differently... </pedantry>

10. I was on a weeklong backpacking trip on the north end
of Lake Chelan in Washington State. North Cascades National Park. It's only reachable by boat and the passenger ferry only runs once a day. There is a town there of about 100 people and about forty miles or so of road.

Anyway, we were running late on our last day. We had hit the main road but were about five miles from town and the ferry was scheduled to leave in about an hour, so we are humping as best as we could, but we weren't making 5 mph. Missing the ferry means my buddy and I miss a day of work.

So a pickup truck comes up behind us and we step to the side of the road and hold our thumbs out. Any local would instantly understand our situation. So he passes us but then stops and waves to us. We start running towards him. Just as get behind his truck he guns it spraying us with gravel and giving us the one fingered salute as he leaves us in a cloud of dust.

About a half hour later we see him coming towards us, obviously having just left town. We move to the side of the road and as he passes he throws an empty beer bottle at us just missing my buddy and then again with the one fingured salute.

As it was we caught the ferry (it was late leaving for some reason) but had we been forced to spend another day there I was seriously gonna find out who this asshole was.

I don't see the problem. Saw a kid drop his ice cream cone a while back and it made me chuckle. I mean I wasn't laughing in his face or anything. But it sure was cute.

30. Those people better watch out
When my daughter was a toddler, she was reaching into the toybox to get something and she fell in! Oh, god, it was SO funny - her little legs were kind of waving about in the air, it was all I could see. I was pregnant with my second and laughing so hard that I could barely get out of my chair to rescue her.

She grew up to become a REPUBLICAN!!!

So be very careful when you laugh at your children - you never know what sort of horrible affect it will have on them.
