Where does all the hatred come from? I don't like Terrell Owens either, but it's not just him. He wasn't throwing cans and bottles onto the football field a few years ago. It's ironic that a city which calls itself the city of brotherly love can have citizens who behave so terribly. Is it the weather there that makes you so mean? Benjamin Franklin must be spinning in his grave!

I stand corrected. The fans only throw snowballs, cheer when a rival player is injured, and occasionally fire flare guns into the stands.

At a December 10, 1989 game dubbed "Bounty Bowl II" against the Dallas Cowboys, the city failed to clear the stadium following a snowstorm. Unsurprisingly, Jimmy's hair withstood the blast, his trademark hairstyle intact.)<4> As a result, the team added security and banned beer sales for their last remaining home game of the regular season.<5>

During a November 10, 1997 Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles fans, in a 24-12 loss, infuriated by a series of calls by the officials and poor play by the Eagles, engaged in a number of highly visible, large-scale brawls on national television. In the last quarter, one fan fired a flare gun across the stadium into empty seats in the 700 level. Other ignominious incidents that evening include a woman flashing from the luxury suites and a man operating a chainsaw in the parking lot. When Michael Irvin went down, where the fans really cheering that he got injured? What I thought at the time: Irvin was down on the field, motionless, eyes closed. The crowd was silent, as is normal for an injury like that. Then the camera zoomed in on Irvin's face, just he moved a little bit for the first time, and seemed to be waking up. Then the crowd cheered. It seemed to me at the time that the crowd was responding to Irvin showing signs of movement, as fans usually do in such situations. But the announcers started condemning the fans, claiming they cheered the fact that Irvin was hurt.

Any insight into that?

9. You guys are so lucky to have a player like McNabb, S.B. ring or not.

He's just a class act, and a great athlete and team leader too.

I watched one of the highlights from the previous game, where he had 2 running touchdowns. On one of them he was about 10-15 yards from the end zone and did a little "shake and bake" move and totally froze the defender in his shoes and went in for the score.

That gave me chills because I remember him doing that exact same thing way back when, either when he was still at Syracuse or in his rookie year or so, and I remember thinking "how many QBs have moves like THAT". But he's also got an arm and a half, as he showed yesterday.

Although he threatens to retire every year, and he hasn't missed a start in like, ever. (I don't actually know him, we just grow up near each other, and I ran into him from time to time as kids. My best friend's sister had a big crush on him. But it's close enough to make me a Packers fan, when the Cowboys or Saints aren't playing.)

Bledsoe... Man, if we had half the games he's lost on interceptions on the final drive... Then again, if we still had any of the other QBs we've had since Aikman retired, we wouldn't even be in contention on those final drives.

Both our losses come from Bledsoe INTs on the final drive. Against Jacksonville we were down a score, and Bledsoe threw two INTs on the final drive (the first was overturned). Last year against Seattle he did it again. It's one thing to get beaten by a great defensive play, it's another to get beaten over and over on stupid passes by an otherwise good QB.

Not to mention on the penultimate drive last week, TO was open for the tying score running away to the endzone, and Bledsoe... Hell, I don't know what he did! He threw it ten yards short and straight to an Eagle, who looked confused to find a football sitting in his hands when he had just been blown up on his coverage! You know TO was pissed about that one. He dreamed of that all season, and Bledsoe just choked. I can't imagine the Eagles fans would have taken it well to be beaten in the final minutes on a TO TD reception! Sigh... what could have been.

Not that the Eagles didn't beat us fair and square. Damn McNabb--we outplayed you on everything except impossible long bombs for touchdowns. If your QB was human, we'd have won! Guess you guys are over Ricky Williams by now, huh?
