God, I despise people who won't supervise their kids. They're not doing them any favors - the little darlings will grow up so wild and obnoxious that no one will like them except for their blind parents.
Two women in the meat department, guess they hadn't seen each other in a while so they stopped right in the way and visited for about 3/4 of an hour while their kids ran absolutely wild.
Three little girls, around 7, 8 and maybe 12 and one little boy of around 11. I was working my wine which is right next to the meat - these kids were poking every single wrapped package of meat in the case, picking them up, moving them around, making stacks out of them. Moms remain oblivious.
Then they commandeered the cart, the three girls hung off the front and both sides and the boy ran up and down the aisle with them while they all shrieked with delight. Mind you, it was busy - other customers trying to shop, me trying to work, displays in danger of being knocked every which way - moms remain oblivious. Blah, blah, blah.
Then the little boy decides to climb on the pallet of boxes I have in one corner that I was working off. Moms are right near it - ignore it. I said to the kid, "Please don't climb on that," in a friendly voice - the little shit just leaves one foot on it and stares at me as if to challenge me. So I say to his mother, "Excuse me," pointing to the kid, "Is this yours? Because you need to supervise it."
She got all huffy that I could possibly refer to her little darling as an "it" but got the point - sort of. The kid kept off my pallet but they continued to run wild. Eventually, the mothers moved on to the bakery where they got all the kids cookies which they really needed. :sarcasm:
I love kids - have three of my own and three grandkids but I NEVER let my kids annoy others like that. And I'm sure there are people here who will label me a kid-hater for this post - I don't hate kids - I hate people who don't take care of their damn kids.
