I love that song.

Anybody else hear who loves Clapton and JJ Cale?

1. Definitely!
Though I'm much fonder of J.J. than of Eric. Both of them are outstanding musicians!

I think J.J. is a local Okie, too. We breed good musicians by the gazillion here.... ;)

3. I thought Eric built his solo career covering JJ Cale songs
Couldn't listen to Clapton for years after he left Cream.

5. what does he have in common with beer?
Clapton's cover of JJ Cales "After Midnight" became a commercial for Michelob, while Clapton was a practicing alcoholic.

Not funny, but ...

6. Okay, this is what I don't get about that.
He stopped playing it after he went sober, right? And he went sober before 2004, right? Well, he most definitely played "Cocaine" when I saw him play MSG in 2004, so I don't get why the big deal is about it now, unless something happened between fall 2004 and today.
