OMG I can't believe the idiots that work for some of these places
I just overheard my son getting into a heated discussion on the phone. He's been told he owes on his mail-in prescription/insurance that he paid off last month.

Here's what he can't get through their heads..and he described in detail each itemized price and she confirmed it and even added it up manually herself. She agrees that the numbers add up but still insists he owes the shipping charge..and insists he can not speak to a supervisor. No wonder he's got high blood pressure..

prescription: 55.33
Shipping $ 13.00

total this
order : $ 68.33

Prior amt
Due : $ 64.69

Total : $133.02

He paid $133.02 in full..now they say he still owes $13.00 shipping charge.

:banghead:

6. Makes me nuts too.
He said she told him that because he's listed in the computer as still owing the $13.00, there's nothing she can do about it.

They went back and forth for 30 minutes. He at least got her to promise him that she'll notify someone in authority to call him.

10. you know
this is one of those things that local TV stations or newspapers with an "Action Line" type thing would love to jump on...perhaps there is one he could contact?

3. When I worked retail years ago I remember
having to call the credit center to help a customer. She was trying to use her card and hadn't in a long time so they inactivated it. I had to call to get it activated again. So I am talking to the customer service rep and he asks me the address, etc. I tell him her town is Pawcatuck, CT. He corrects me. "No, you mean RI." I said "Excuse, me? She lives in Pawcatuck, CT." He says, "I'm sorry, but Pawtucket is in Rhode Island." This went on back and forth a few times more before I could convince him that these are two separate cities in two different states. And I live in CT and he didn't and he was trying to correct me. Pretty scary.

She lost track of the number of times some doofus listed her as living "in another country."

5. I have known a couple of people who thought that

D.C. was in Colombia, South America. And you are right about NM. There are doofuses who think it is another country and people from New Mexico who get asked if they have green cards, etc. (And I am not talking about immigrants).

9. That happened when we moved from MD to NM.
My dad called to phone company to get a number change only to be told that they didn't do service to Mexico.

7. Had that...
Once, a woman insisted Minneapolis (and, yes, she even knew it was near St. Paul) was in N. Dakota! I finally stopped arguing with her!

11. I once got into an argument
with a friend(?) of my brother's..........about my family's birth order. He insisted that Chuck was older than Dave. I was pretty sure I knew what I was talking about. Yeah, gave up on that argument.
