It takes 3 days to get
a cold, 3 days to have a cold, and 3 days to get over a cold.

While I was leaning over to help one of my students Monday night I was thinking...in three days I'm going to have this kid's cold...

Yep, 3 days. (down to the hour) Shit.

2. Yes it would be nice to be wrong
My kids never believe me when I say that.

My daughter was gone for 5 days last week. She's 13. She left me a note after a few days that she was okay but that she was not coming home yet. She is a happy young lady, for the most part, and we hadn't been fighting. It dawned on me that she would come home after she did the one thing I had said no to - piercing her nose. Two days later she came home with her nose pierced. Yes it would be nice ...every once in a while...to be wrong.

4. I was going to do some substitute teaching on the side, but just...
...couldn't bring myself to do it, for that reason. Those booger biters bring all kinds of crap with them to school, and I just didn't want to be exposed to it. Hope you get better soon. Maybe you'll build a resistance to some of their strains.

5. The State of California
pays a lot of money for putting up with the I-just-need-credits-to-graduate crowd. (I just couldn't bring myself not do it. lol)

I did consider holding my breath the other night, when I realized the kid was sick. Of course, it was too late at that point as I would have been holding the germs in. So, I panicked and tried blowing the germs out with fast repetitive breaths

- while leaning over this 17 year old boy...exhale, exhale, exhale...
