6. Would you please e-mail or PM me?
I need to give you some identifying details that I'd rather not have on the board.

Thanks. :-)

2. I used to live in B'ham. I still have friends there.
Nice city. Good location. My only complaint is they don't get enough snow in the winter and not enough rain the rest of the year. That, and I hate both the football teams from Alabama AND Auburn which is sacrilege down there.

4. nice town
i went to school there in the late 70's and just returned from spending a week there around thanksgiving. it's has some problems as far growth, everything is sprawling out all over hell and back, and zoning laws, when they exist, are lightly enforced.

my all time favorite neighborhood is the southside of b'ham, though. great architecture, numerous pocket parks and no generic apartment complexes plopped down in the middle of a bunch of craftsman style homes.

and with the university (UAB) and a couple of minor schools there is a fairly vibrant arts/theatre/music scene for a town that size. two people i went to school with are making their living as artists there.

if you visit there to check it out, make sure you hit the civil rights institute. it'll be a few hours that will touch you deeply.

11. A good friend of mine has a compromise that works.
He says, "I'm a big Alabama fan, but I'll root for Auburn if they're playing anyone but Bama."

People leave him alone -- they really do! :-)

14. Hey? What? Me?
I've been in South Carolina for the past five days.

Yes! I'm from Birmingham. Come on down (or up). I'll show you the town. I've lived here going on 33 years.

PM me if you'd like or ask here and I'll answer the questions that you have (if I can!).
