Was this wrong of me?

When I got back to work this afternoon, I was antsy to get around some people in front of me. They were walking side by side, taking up the whole span of the corridor. (much like three cars on a freeway, all going 55MPH in a 65MPH zone).

I started to walk faster and say 'pardon me' and walk by.

One of the people then told her friend, 'He must be trying to get away from those ni**ers."

Hmmm. If I had the time, I may have argued the situation:

1. I tend to walk fast in general; people often tell me to slow down (I'm only walking)
2. I have PTSD, I'm afraid of people in general; skin color does not cross my mind
3. I was hurrying to get back to my desk to check on a project

But I didn't have the time, I do fathom and understand their POV. It's regrettable people think the worst things automatically, but I sure as hell can understand why too. :(

Applesauce happens. I do see their POV, but if I presented a negative image, it wasn't out of racist inclinations. And Lord knows what hell they've gone through as well. :(

for blocking the hallway, and then rude again for trying to make you look like the rude one. x(

Attempting to make you seem racist in the process makes them vicious too.
