Any suggestions for a long distance service (cheap, easy)?
I want something other than a 10-10 service. Something that I can use from work and cell phone. Right now I have nothing! I had a service where I bought a specific number of minutes, and it ran out. I don't remember what the service was... what a dummy (me) .

Advice, anyone?

2. does it cost you $$ to call an 800 number
from your cell phone? A Sam's club prepaid long distance card is 3 1/2 cents/minute. Sort of a pain to dial the extra numbers, but it's cheap.

6. I second that.
Working Assets LD has been great for us, even after the year of free ice cream ran out. It's practically free to call other WALD customers.

4. For any phone, including cell phones...
BigZoo.com

2.9 cents per minute anywhere in the U.S. by using a local access number.
3.9 cents per minute anywhere in the U.S. by using a toll-free access number.

Can't be beat.

5. I like....
those AT&T prepaid phone cards. 3.5 cents a minute, useable everywhere, rechargeable, and can be used for overseas calls (not at 3.5 cents a minute, though).

They're simple to use, dial an 800 number, enter your access code, and then dial the number.

7. I bought a Sam's Club prepaid phone card for ...
... $26 Ñ two years ago. It originally had 600 minutes on it, and still has 450 minutes. (You can see that I don't do much long-distance calling!).

This has saved me more than $700 over the 2 years, since I no longer have to shell out monthly fees and taxes to Verizon.
