PMS question for women or doctors
I've been noticing a pattern in my "cycle". Around the late second week to mid- to late-third week of my cycle, I notice I become uncharacteristically suspicious and possessive of a guy (in my thoughts). I think to myself that it's strange that I'm thinking these thoughts (example: the guy doesn't like me anymore, the guy likes all these other women, etc. etc. etc.), even when there is no reason to think so and when I look back on it a week after, I remember everything that I thought and it seems really stupid. It's been like this for years, doesn't matter who the guy is.

It's like clockwork and happens at around the exact same time every month and just goes away after that time. I've learned to ignore it because I tell myself it's just PMS but it big time stresses me out while it happens. It really sucks.

Am I the only one who gets this? Does anyone else get this around the same time each month? Is there any way to get rid of it?

1. Ever read any of Dr. Christiane Northrup's books?
PMS is hormonal changes, yes, but she talks about how, sometimes, it's the way that your body and mind often force you to process the things that during the rest of the month you put on the backburner. I used to have awful PMS and actually what helped me was first, cutting sugar out of my diet, and secondly, becoming more honest with myself and the people in my life about my feelings regarding my life. In other words, being more true to myself.
I have also used natural progesterone cream as well which does help, but I found the first two more effective. Now, I hardly have any PMS, but I still find that at that time, I need to allow myself some space to just feel what I'm feeling and to look at why.

2. This is no answer, but hormones CAN do this.
See your doc, merry jane. Good luck.

3. I just wonder why we call it PMS?

4. Hormone-related anxiety can manifest in the manner you've described.
Consider using St. John's Wort or valerian root, as that time approaches each month. Of course, you should first educate yourself regarding these two herbs. St. John's Wort, for example, does negatively interact with certain medications.

And, if you have any relaxation/calming techniques that you already know work for you, make sure to implement them. For most of us, music falls into that category but we sometimes forget to play our favorite tunes when we need them the most.

Finally, if it were me, I would want to examine whether I have a tendency to be suspicious and, if so, try to learn why.

Hope this helps. :)
