College coaches rumored to be in the Falcons head coaching derby.

Good? Bad? Ugly?

LSU coach Nick Saban , Iowa's Kirk Ferentz , Maryland's Ralph Friedgen , and Oklahoma's Bob Stoops have been brought up as possible candidates to be the Falcons' next head coach.

Notre Dame's Ty Willingham isn't getting ready for a bowl game. And his former agent, Ray Anderson , is in the Falcons' front office.

1. candidates

i think that none of those will be the next coach of the falcons.
my two favorites for the job are ray rhodes and romeo cranell. both are defensive gurus, something badly needed there. they already have a good offense lead by vick and need some balance on the other side of the ball. and as a plus both are minorities, something the NFL is pushing these days hardcore to teams in search of a coach.

other options, jim mora jr, defensive assistant with the 49ers, charlie weis, mo carthon.

2. Willingham is overrated IMHO

although he might be better in the pros. The WCO offense doesn't work in college, but it works much better in the pros.

Saban and Stoops are both good college coachs. I'm not a big fan of Friedne or Frenets. I would go after Carroll if I were them.
