8. Put her on a shuttle bus or plane and continue to move her from
one city to another. Osama wouldn't nuke the one he loves, and she ain't no virgin. He can only possess the one he loves on earth. Come out of your cave, Osama. It's Groundhog's Day, and you can be Whitney's shadow.

2. It's about damn time
Whitney Houston was arguably one of the most talented musicians of our time.
For some reason, she allowed BB to drag her down a path that not only ruined her career, but her health as well.

11. "One of the most talented musicians of our time"?
:puke:

She had good pipes (for singing pop dreck, anyway) but she ain't no musician, and certainly not up there with Zappa, Penderecki, Stockhausen, Monk, Reich, Cage, Glass, Ian Anderson, and so forth.

In terms of, say, the third tier of talent, she's up at the top - or at least, she was.

16. She is one of a very small number
(I think the number is 3 or 4) than can hit the middle "C".
I'd argue that it is all just a matter of music taste--personally, I don't care for Zappa so he wouldn't even be on my long list, let alone my short list.

17. I'm thinking you mean a high "C", but even that isn't as high
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 03:31 PM by Rabrrrrrr
as a coloratura soprano opera singers go. The Queen of the Night (in Die Zauberflote) hits a high f. Pitches above the high c, which is the first c above the staff in the treble clef, are called the "Whistle Range".

I would imagine Whitney can go above the high c (or at least could, before the drugs). Wikipedia lists popular singers Mariah Carey, Minnie Riperton, Shanice, Christina Aguilera and Debelah Morgan as examples of popular singers who can hit that range; I would be very surprised if Whitney was not able to join their ranks: she did have a good set of pipes. Not very interesting ones, and she sadly applied them to an entire catalogue of lackluster, uninteresting music, thus depriving the world and human history of a catalogue of stuff that would have had longevity and relevance for decades if not centuries to come, but she did have good pipes.
