Where do those "I'm so Lonely" and "I'm suicidal" posts go to, anyway?
Sometimes when I log on in the morning I see these emotional threads that have been shut down and I just wonder, are they just cancelled forever or are they shuttled off to another forum? I know it's not a good idea to post "I'm Suicidal" or "I'm Depressed" posts around here, but I irrationally worry about those people. What are they told, or where are they sent? If anybody knows.

5. So, lets consider the political implications
The National Association for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) is going to have to close down their crisis hotline due to lack of federal funding.

Seems like skewed priorities (to put it mildly). Use the money to send troops to Iraq for extra long tours of duty without adequate support or equipment so that when they come back they are desperately in need of mental health attention. Then cut services to vets so that they are left having to call a mental health hotline. ....

:hurts:

7. Good Info
Thank you, I'm glad this is what happens.

Naturally, I was puzzled by that last response that said he didn't care at all what happened to suicidal people, but in general this is probably really good news.

9. Since we at DU are not qualified to help someone through those
types of depression, they are encouraged to contact a mental health professional in the locking post. :hi:
