(Topic unrelated to Bball)On the NBA on TNT Postgame Show
Last night the three hosts Kenny, Ernie, and Charles Barkley all exchanged gifts I guess for Christmas. Well Charles Barkley handed Ernie a copy of Michael Moore's book "Stupid White Men", Ernie seemed a little surprised well Charles said that is a really good book and later on during the show he went on to say that "Bowling for Columbine" was probaly the best documentary ever made. So that probaly pissed off some freepers who watching the show and not to mention giving Michael Moore's book and movie free advertising.

3. Since when was he Republican?
Everytime I heard Barkley speak his mind politically he always seemed liberal.

2. Sir Charles HAD said he was a Repub...
But I've got a feeling that three years' worth of enduring Dub & Co. may have turned him around on that score..he DID say, after all, that he liked John Edwards for president...:eyes:

B-)

4. You got a link saying he did?
Because Barkley himself said he is not republican or democrat.

6. Well
From everytime I have seen him he said he was not either and everytime he speaks his mind about an issue he usually takes the liberal point of view. I mean what kind of republican would praise Michael Moore?

7. no link either...
But I remember an interview he gave talking about this. It seems when he was a kid, he once asked his mother (grandmother?) if they were Republican or Democrats. She answered that Republicans were only for rich people and kid Barkely thought since he planned on being rich, he must be a Republican.

8. Perhaps you would like to read the quote yourself
NOVAK: Mr. Barkley, it's been rumored ... I think you've even said it, but I'm going to ask you straight, are you a Republican?

BARKLEY: I'm not either, to be honest with you. I made a joke with my grandmother one time. I was asking her, "Why are we always a Democrat?" I said, "Because you know, I don't know. Everyone in Alabama is a Democrat. Why are we Democrats?" She said, "... Republicans are only for rich people." And I said, "I'm rich." And she hasn't given me a viable answer.

I don't really go with either being a Republican or a Democrat. I like people.

Also read more on the transcript, he goes after Republicans and Enron.
