SAD Summer Reflection..
So recently I have been becoming increasingly depressed because summer is about to end. I don't know why but this summer has been so different from other summers and i just don't think I can take it being over. I've been crying so much too. Anything that reminds me of summer makes me cry. Even stupid things like clips from the Midsummer Classic or even just clothes i bought at the beginning of summer. I'm so pointlessly miserable.
HELP ME!!!
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!

1. What's wrong with fall?
If you were in Texas, you'd hope it came early :)

4. The Fall is the best season.
... in Texas, followed by Spring and then Winter, which is very mild here.

Summers are miserable here - we've had 10 100+ degree days this year, you can fry eggs on the sidewalk and be dripping sweat over a 2-block walk.

I'm ready for it to be over, the sooner the better! If you like hot weather, you need to move to Texas, winters here are a cakewalk!

3. Aww...
It'll be OK... trust me. Once things get going you'll be back at summer again before you know it. I used to get really upset about summer ending, then suddenly it was here again.

7. My dear WannaBeGrumpy........
There's nothing wrong with you, sweetie......

As we get older, we realize that the happy times of summer are fleeting...

There is no endless summer......

And so we feel the loss as summer ends........

Transitions can be hard.......

11. Aw, I know how you feel.
I'm in college, so it's tough to go from doing whatever I want in a fairly good-sized city to going four hours away to the small town of 14,000 where my college is. I'm gonna miss my family (yes, I like my family.), especially my dad.

But hey, the sooner we start, the sooner it's summer again. I'm just breaking the year up into manageable bits, instead of taking the whole nine months at once. A week until labor day. Less than two months until midterm break. Three months until Thanksgiving. Four until Christmas (and a one-month break). A little over five until my birthday. Less than six until spring break, and less than eight until summer again. :D

Then, there are a few things that I'm personally looking forward to: the election, Halloween, the World Series, and the start of hockey and football season in the fall, the Superbowl, spring training, and a new baby in our family at the beginning of the year, and a new baseball season and all that pre-summer excitement of spring.

It's gonna be fun. :)

18. Look! You made your mother cry! Happy, now?
:P

If you were my daughter, by cracky, I'd send you to your room and force you to watch an endless loop of the "Summer Nights" clip from Grease. :o

I mean, once you finished your shift in the coal mine, of course...

Tough love...that's what I'm all about.

23. Indeed
And I'll never forget when my brother and his friend, at the age of eleven or so, recreated the Most Excellent "Greased Lightning" routine as part of a country-school Christmas pageant kinda thing...we honestly had no idea what half of the song's risqué aspects were. :D

15. What is making me nervous is the impending lack of daylight
I'm already leaving my house before sunrise, and soon I will still be at work until after sunset.

16. You may truly have SAD
I used to live in NJ and the winters were harsh and dark. This always without fail made me irritable and somewhat depressed as well during fall and winter.

Last year I moved to CA where there is no lack of sunlight during our so called "winter" months. I've noticed that these symptoms went away.

You may truly have the SAD condition so if moving to somewhere without harsh winters is an impossibility, I would recommend getting as much fresh air and winter sunlight as possible, and if the situation gets really bothersome take a look into light therapy.

Just remember that what you're feeling is a bodily reaction, not necessarily a true reflection on your mental state.

Hope that helps...
