How stupid is this statement on Pluto Demotion
Pluto has been dropped from the rank of Planets...it is now a minor planet...

Speculating on the effects this will cause the AP ponders the following

"It was unclear how Pluto's demotion might affect the mission of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft, which earlier this year began a 9.5-year journey to the oddball object to unearth more of its secrets."

I mean C'MON the thing is already launched...

What, are they gonna call it back?

Just forget about it now that a different word is applied to Pluto...\

I mean how dumb is this?

Or am I missing something here?

to have to be revised.

3. The stupidest thing I heard in relation to the Pluto debate
was an interview on NPR of an "astrologer". :eyes:

The premise was how would a demotion affect astrological charts.

At one point the interviewer (Scott Simon) said a listener had written in wondering if the astrological chart he had done a few years ago which said that the position of the Planet Pluto indicated that he would never get married would be changed if Pluto was demoted.

The astrologer got very irate saying he considered such a reading as "malpractice". LOL! He went on to explain in some convoluted logic about influences and how basically the reading should've be more couched and vague. LOL!

"And I'm not alone in thinking that!" is how he ended his diatribe.
