It didn't set me back as much as it could have, thanks to somebody here who helped me out. I feel like a real student now. Uh oh. :scared:

1. Good luck with your classes!
:toast: :bounce:

When do you start? Or maybe you did start since you knew what books you had to get.
I never knew any of the books I needed until the classes started.

4. I start next week
They have all the text requirements online and a list at the bookstore. I do have to go get two more for an online class I'm taking that's based out of another campus, my primary school's bookstore didn't have those.

2. What will you be taking this fall?
I'm starting some scoping classes so I can finally work at home and not have to deal with shitty bosses.

Human Sexuality sounds fun. :) Of course if I don't get an A I'll never hear the end of it from somebody around here.

"LeftyMom failed Sex Ed! Alert the lounge!"

12. Sex Ed is great.
I loved it. Ours was some studying and some "true confessions". The point of the confessions was for the class to realize that everyone is different.

You'll have a blast.

3. It's good that you didn't have to sell your first born to pay for them
:P I remember my first semester of college it cost me around $450 for all of my books (nearly 100 for a Bio text book that I literally opened once and sold back for less than half). I think my most expensive semester was nearly $600 and I never escaped less than $200. I tried to get as many as I could used off the internet but since they put out new editions every 6 months it's hard to do and even harder to sell them back...yeah the college book store has got everyone by the balls

13. no, student loans...make me groan!
we are doing the student loan route...but, they only pay for...gasp tuition/fee's and all of that, the books come outta our pocket, which sucks...this time around 120 bucks on books, which isn't bad, but when you are borderline broke, and credit cards are sorta pretty much used up, its a pain...

15. I freely admit
My tuition was waived for financial need, as was my id fee, etc. So far I've had to buy a (discounted) parking pass, my books and about $30 worth of school junk at Target, though I'll need to add to that once I go to class and hear the intstructors' specific requirements.

16. Thats pretty good
my wife and I are currently applying for any, and all scholarships. This is her first quarter, she started in June, as a part timer, and as a part timer, the scholarships/grant oppurtunites were grim. But in September she will be a full time student, so we hope that some of the scholarships/grants start coming this way...

She was Valedictorian at her alma mater ,and her current grades are...99% out of a 100, so as far as grades go she meets all of that, plus being american indian, that opens up a few more windows...but the part time student part put a huge stop to a lot of grants/scholarships. Even FASFA turned us down, we were surprised...hopefully September has some more finanicial aid doors, open to us.
