Gosh, she is cute too. She said goodbye to me and I acted like a tongue-tied hick from Montana, which...well, actually I am one.

Last month I complimented her and she's been tossing signs my way ever since.

I am such a punk. Today was our last day too.

I'm going to go scurry around in my spiderhole now.

3. Hey, can you find her email from the University's online directory?
And ask her if she'd like to grab a cup of coffee or something some time soon?
Sometimes email is easier for shy people...

4. hmm.....I do have it on our class list......
Yes, it is much easier. I'm the funniest shy guy around. I'll crack jokes in front of a classroom, yet one little girl makes me forget I can talk. Psh....

7. Yup, go for it!
:)

If she doesn't reply, oh well... rejection via email is much easier to take than rejection in person.

Good luck!

19. The Broken Spoke.
One of my favorite bands http://www.sonynashville.com/TheDerailers/ The Derailers is playing. Their lead singer is quitting the band at the end of the year to spend time with his family. They're great guys and a good band. They kinda channel Buck Owens from the '60s.

Of course...you'll need to get to Austin somehow. But I'll buy the food and beer, and you can crash at my place. :D

36. the class was great...loved it......
I'm pretty obsessed with all that stuff. My professor was one of the civilian ministers that went into Iraq with Jay Garner and then Paul Bremer. David Dunford is his name. Sharp guy. He was the senior advisor to the foreign ministry, which was about the only one that wasn't a total disaster. He was good friends with the Iraqi councilwoman who was assassinated a few months ago. Shook him up pretty bad.

14. I will retract my previous statement, if...
and only if, you ask her out sometime today in the manner that makes you most comfortable.

However you do it, whether in person, on the phone, or via email, you MUST project confidence (but not arrogance; don't OVER-compensate).

Ask her to coffee as if it's not a big deal, and as if you're expecting her answer to be yes.

If she says no, just make sure she knows how to get back in touch with you, and let her know it's an open invite. Then back off.

28. Just don't start your email with
"Hey Bagface! Today's your lucky day!"

That crosses the line from confidence to arrogance...

20. Let us consult the expert : Mike Damone from Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 12:00 PM by XNASA
Here's what Mike says:

1. "I mean don't just walk in. You move across the room. And you don't talk to her. You use your face. You use your body. You use everything. That's what I do. I mean I just send out this vibe and I have personally found that women do respond. I mean, something happens."

2. "The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude."

3. "First of all, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV."

29. It sounds like she has interest, so don't wimp out
Tell her you're going for coffee at such-and-such time and place (when you think she might not be otherwise occupied). Ask her in a way that seems like it would be natural for her to say yes and no big deal if she says no, like you've already decided you're going and, hey, it's great if she'd like to come to.

This is advice from a man who's had more than his share of I-wish-I'd-done-that experiences. Don't make the same mistakes I've made in my life, which were mostly the result of not taking enough chances.
