It fucking sucks!
Let me start out by saying I really don't like zoos or aquariums. The whole animals in captivity for our entertainment concept bothers me. Would never take my kids to a circus. Conservation is very important to me, and I teach that at home.
My 5 year old has been bugging me to go as several of his friends went, so I relented. We went to Fernbank Museum a couple weeks ago and loved it.
Big mistake! You buy tickets online for a certain time and showup. It was so overcrowded you could barely move, wall to wall people everyhere. The design is terrible, the tanks are murky and the displays are no big deal.
One area didn't allow you to bring strollers (we had a small umbrella one for our daughter) so it had a parking area for them with no attendant. We come out from the viewing area and I see some guy taking off with our stroller. My husband stopped the guy, he finally gave it up with some bullshit excuse.
I'm sending them an email asking what the fuck is the point of purchasing tickets and showing up at an assigned time when you can't even move when you are in there. It was disgusting.
It is a big tourist dump that is a waste of money, and reaffirms my belief in why I hate those places. I know it was our fault for going on a weekend, but it still sucks. My son agreed Fernbank was so much better.
