What did Mel actually say... and why do we care?????
Why is he taking so much time away from important things...like election stealing, economy, war, etc.

9. I like your screen name.
Sorry for the irrelevance. Just wanted to say I like your SN. Is it a reference to the Queensryche album? That's one of my all-time favorites.

10. Thanks. It's One Of Mine Too. Operation Mindcrime II Wasn't So Great
though. I was pretty disappointed with it.

I chose the SN cause I was listenin to the album the day before and there were parts of Revolution Calling and Speak that totally reminded me of the current state we're in.

12. Absolutely.
I find a lot of those lyrics very relevant these days as well. I haven't heard OMII yet, but I've heard from many people it's not very good. I'll chalk you up as another one with a poor review. That's pretty disappointing.

5. Personally I've been thinking a "Don't care" thread campaign...

...might be worthwhile.

This would be DUers opening threads about dumbass media stories just long to post "don't care! n/t"

Like the South Park Towlie/GameSphere episode.

6. the real news canceled in 2000
this is just a diversion so the pinheads who are obsessed with the tvvee, have no idea the real horror going on on the world.

the elimination of the estate tax for the trilloiares is up for a vote tomorrow, but of course what Mel said and didn't say has so much more relevance.

11. I'm Jewish and could care less about
what Mel Gibson thinks of my people. The Passion of the Christ showed me what he thinks of Jews and his verbal outrage last Friday merely confirmed it. It affects me not a whit. They are his thoughts and in my opinion better to have them out there rather than under a sheet, oh I mean under cover. I can only assume there are many, many people in the US, rich and poor, who have negative opinions of Jews. They are welcome to those opinions as long as they don't act upon them by defacing a synagogue, a Jewish cemetary or hurting Jews.

13. Simple. Because Fundies worship his "Passion" movie,
And because this exposes him as a hypocrite.

Just as the Fundies are hypocrites. It exposes them as they really are, for all the world to see.

And they cannot bear the light of day.

Personally, "Dances with Wolves" will always have a special place in my heart. Whatever happened to THAT Mel Gibson?

14. I'm with you.
My mother and I never argue, but we got into a screaming match about The Passion when it came out. And then, later on, had another one when that preacher put up that church sign about how "The Jews killed Jesus" which prompted her to tell me "I've been told my whole life that the Jews killed Jesus". SoI've enjoyed this latest about Mel. I know there is other news, and I keep up with it, but seeing Gibson defrocked has been delicious, because now we have confirmation that the reason he made a film like this is because he is anti-semitic, not because it is 'the truth' as the fundies insist. And further, because now it's an easy argument to make, instead of bringing up all sorts of historical stuff, like that crazy anti-semitic nun that they've never heard of but don't understand her influence on the film.

This is just so much better; my only disappointment is that it didn't happen sooner around the release. At least we can be assured that there won't be a sequel now, or a prequel, like "Jesus, the Fetus" or something like that.
