38. I think the pot's calling the kettle black
You took snippets of my posts out of context and used them to create a slur of your own invention.

"dick" - was written to rhyme with "chick" in the same post - referring to a male as opposed to a female.

"You're wrong" - a simple statement of fact - see the post to verify.

"I'm not buying it" - a comment about someone claiming that a US president had the name of "Leslie" but used "Gerald" instead.

"stupid" - not applied to a person, for sure, but I can't remember where I put that word, other than it would apply here if I was so inclined to use it in describing your post, which I'm not.

You were partly right, though, I do argue like O'Reilly in as much as I'm fearless and willing to stand up for myself, but I do stick to facts. Since O'Really (I prefer to call him that) argues a lot on the air, almost any argument is going to trigger some similarities to his "debating style", I suppose, but I'm not obstinate, uninformed, crippled by dogma and self-hating like O'Really is, so I can usually get along with other people a little better, even during and after an argument of sorts :)

In fact, I produce some of O'Reilly's worst nightmares on the net (see http://hated.com and http://bushspeaks.com for examples).

In only a couple of years went from Starfleet to more powerful than the human race itself. Not bad for someone just into puberty :)

I'd say (in spite of the fact that he was one of the more unpopular people, he sure did some manly things) like hitting on the queen of another planet, and evolving to the point of "Q" like status O8)

Where most of the cast members have a rigid personality structure in place, Wesley could gambol around like a typical teenager and create all kinds of fun situations. I never figured out what people disliked about that character.

I wonder if it was because of the mother/son relationship that they kept harping over.... I suspect that might have turned people off him a bit.

I also think part of it was because he kind of moved up in the ranks druing his stay on the ship without the normal training, and his age. (sorry about getting so off topic folks).. But I didn't really didn't understand the dislike of his character either, except for those reasons mentioned. Now back to the topic :)

according to the following web page:
http://www.babychatter.com/wboy.html
It is a boy/man's name and is "Anglo Saxon" and the meaning of the name is "Man from the West".
But then I only looked at 2 web searches and both said the same basic thing. But really. What does a name have to to with a persons character. Carol O'conner, Leslie Nealson. Heck Jonny Cash was a boy named Sue :)

Frank is the #31 most common male name.

Frank is the #2691 most common female name.
0.002% of females in the US are named Frank.

69. Both Wesley and Leslie started out as last names.

Along with names like Sidney and Finley (on edit - and Hillary)- and Harper, etc... (I'm mainly picking on the "ey" ending names here).

From what I understand, last names and place names used as "first/middle names" or "christian names" are generally considered gender-nuetral in the english language. The only time gender comes into play is when using a traditional name, such as Elizabeth or Carl - or adding a diminutive on a name, such as an "a" (as in Carla), or an "ette" variant(as in Carlotte) which will generally make an otherwise traditional masculine name feminine.
Heck,I knew a poor guy from a "traditional family" who had "Freddie Dale XXXX(last name not used here)on his birth certificate - is that a boy's name or a girl's name?

There are also made up names, like "Rayleen"(F) or "Levon" (M), are usually names that come from mixing elements the mother and father's names - "Ray and Coleen" or "Lee and Vonda" - both these names are from actual record.
And then, of course, you have names like "Billy Joe" and "Peggy Sue" - as well as "Madison", "Scout", "River", "Raine", "Parliment", "Fourth of May"...all names that have been picked by the parent(s) just because they liked the sound on the birth certificate...

Hey, it's not like we're in France, where there's laws against naming your kid something that they might get ridiculed for it later on...

73. It's my understanding from those I know who grew up in France -
At least back in the 1960's and 1970's it was law that names of the French-born citizens had to come from the French Christian calendar, although "the local registry" could exercise a local option in accepting names.
Point of interest from back when I was involved in SCA heraldry (which included history of naming practices)- a few years ago - late 1990's, don't remember the exact year - the Boston Globe had a human interest story about a Parisian couple who were not able to name their girl "Cerise" or Cherry, becuase it was against the law there.

74. Zut Alors!
I'm flabberghasted that France, the bastion of civil protest and left-wing insurrection would make such a law.

75. Germans can deny you the right to name your child anything
irregular.

Hitler and Jordan are not acceptable-among many
