I'm PREGNANT!!!!

YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!
We've been trying for three months since our wedding, and this month I missed my period. I took 3 pregnancy tests and the first one was positive and I thought it might be a fluke, so I took one the next day and AGAIN it was positive and I took another the next day and AGAIN another positive. I read on the directions that false-positives aren't that common. False-negatives are. I woke my husband from a sound sleep to show him and he was so estatic, we both danced and laughed and jumped around the room hugging eachother like in the movies. The doctor's office just called. The blood test was positive too! So my little pharmacy tests weren't wrong! Now all I need is the sonogram, probably at the end of the month or in January. I'm so happy! :)

When I saw my doctor she said "What?!? You were in here last month saying you were thinking of trying to get pregnant and here you are a month later thinking you are pregnant." She said that was QUICK! She said she's got patients who are on their 3rd invitro and men trying to get vasectomy's reversed etc. Some people have a hard time having kids and have such hard times. Poor them, quick prayer for them that their dreams come true.

Meanwhile I'm off beer completely now. Which is sad, because usually how I celebrate good news is by getting loaded. And now thinking that I'm not drinking for 9+ months is a drag, I wish I'd have known my last beer was gonna be my LAST. I would have savored it so much more than I normally do. MMmm..beer, my Homer Simpson moment. But so what, its just beer. I'd rather have a BABY!

I can't wait for my baby to grow in me and I can't wait to name him/her! It'll be due in August, I'm not excited for a summer pregnancy, but I'm sure everything will end up wonderful! I'll be such a good mommy I'm sure, and my husband will be a wonderful father. He is so caring, kind, loving, gentle and sensitive. I really want to tell my family but it is still too soon. When do you think would be a good time to tell them? 1 mnth, 2, 3? I think I'll wait another few months or so to tell them unless I can't wait and I let it slip. I'm 31, I am at the right time in my life for this and I have waited so long to be ready. I can't wait to decorate the nursery!

I am walking on clouds on pillows on marshmallows on feathers on air....every step is an overjoyous, happy one. I am loving my life and everything about it! Thank you Lord Jesus Christ my God for this incredible GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hail Mary full of Grace, HAIL HAIL Holy Queen!

I have slight symptoms...tender breasts, slight cramping, nausea, backache and VIVID dreams, so strange, my dreams have been unreal! I love falling asleep every night to see what I'm doing and where I'm going next. They are like movies, I swear!

Any other mothers feel free to give me advice about my pregnancy, this is ALL so new to ME!

O8) O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)O8)

I'd say for advice, pick up a few books. Almost any book on pregnancy, birth, or child-rearing by Dr. William Sears is good. Unless, you're high-risk, try to opt for a midwife rather than a Ob/Gyn and pick of a copy of The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer. The info in that was is awesome.

I was you a happy and healthy pregnancy!!! It's a wild ride for sure.

:toast::toast: :toast: to you, your hubby, and your little "becoming" baby!

What a welcome fmaily that child will be getting with you two as parents - lucky, lucky baby.

I second the advice to get some good books on (natural) childbirth, on pregnancy, breastfeedling, etc.

Pregnancy, especially the last months -in the summer - are pretty heavy. My first was born in September......but it's all OK, all wild, and crazy and tiresome, exciting and a drag......have a wonderful time experiencing it ALL.

I sincerely hope that you don't get sick (I'm six months in and I just now MIGHT be getting over it) but if you do, holler. I have tried every remedy out there, and some of them worked for a while.

I would advise you not to get the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book. I hate that damn book. It might be okay if you have a textbook pregnancy, but if you don't it's not much help.

ready a nanosecond after the tests came up positive. I don't believe in waiting, that and I am a blabbermouth. Happy and Healthy 9 months to you. My only advice? Stay away from ParentsPlace on Ivillage. 1. It will scare you to death. 2. It tends to be Freeperville. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!!!

What a nice Xmas present for you and your husband. What a lucky baby to be so loved before it even breaths it's first breath. I just found out that I'm going to be a grandmother for the first time which is wonderful because now I get to reap all the benefits without all the downsides like broken sleep, dirty diapers, and the teenager years lol. Once again congratulations and have a fabulous new year.

I'm so happy for you and your hubby!

Tidbits of advice: Start arranging your schedule now to allow you to get way more sleep than you normally would. During the first trimester, you'll be TIRED. I would come home from work, literally fall on the couch and sleep until dinner, get up and eat, and go back to sleep. Fortunately, my sweet husband cooked every night during that time.

Go off caffeine. :(

Take those huge vitamins they give you, even though they're nasty.

I highly recommend a prenatal yoga class with an experienced and qualified teacher.

Take care of yourself and enjoy this special time!

24. Congrats and good luck with the pregnancy!
Re. telling people, think about it this way: if (God forbid) you lost the baby, is there anyone you'd want/need to talk about it with? Tell them. Anyone else, particularly coworkers, bosses, etc., can wait.

As far as pregnancy advice goes, I agree with PM--get a midwife if you can. They're much more in tune with their patients. As for nausea, I'd recommend small, frequent meals. My midwife told me to eat a little bit of protein every 2 hours. It helped.

WTG!

27. What a nice Christmas present
You are in for the ride of your life :):)

Sleep..sleep sleep and then sleep some more :)

You might as well tell people, because you know you won;t be able to stop yourself..

Pamper yourself and enjoy it..even the pukey parts.. This is something that most women only do a few times in their whole lives, so savor every moment of it..

You might even start a journal.. some day your son/daughter will want to know all about "before they were born"..

Congrats....

(Mom of 3 grown sons, so pm me any time if you have a question )

Super! Didn't have to wait too long, either! Three months is pretty much under the average, IIRC. You and your husband are fertile!

Keep in mind: labor only last a few days (at most), but breastfeeding is something you should consider for the long haul. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a full year. WHO recommends two years. Both recommend even longer if mom and baby desire.

About midway through, when you're feeing groovy, look into attending some La Leche League meetings. If you don't like the first group, try another group in your city until you find one you're comfortable with. LLL has the inside track on breastfeeding.

Being a Parent is Totally Cool! Totally Rules, "Momma"!

40. We waited three months before letting family know...
The reason for this is that almost all problems with miscarriages (not to scare you -- they are quite rare in any event) happen in the first trimester. Once you get past that, it's pretty certain that the pregnancy will make it to term.

Anyway, wonderful news! (We need more future Democratic voters... ;-) )

Children are our most precious gifts to the world. Raising them is at once rewarding and frustrating, but when the finished product(so to speak) is out there, most parents are proud as can be. And don't forget, they never stop being your children no matter how old they are. Since you are a D.U.er, this kid will almost certainly get some fine upbringing. Once again, congratulations!
