local honey & allergies
I have cross posted this to see if anyone has any information or testimony to the benefits of local honey helping people who suffer from allergies & sinus infections? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

1. I've never taken it personally, but I know a lot of people
used to buy it when I worked at the health food store for that purpose. Some also took local bee pollen. Personally, I like the BioAllers homeopathic allergy formulas.

3. This ex-beekeeper says....
you will find little relief from allergies by ingesting local honey or bee pollen because most allergies (hay fever) are from plants that bees don't visit (grass, wheat, rye, etc). Generally, light airborne pollens come from self pollinating plants that don't require insects to pollinate.

4. TOTAL waste of time and money

i tried everything in my years of intractable allergies, one of the least beneficial and most damaging was probably the local honey cure

it won't help your allergies but it will do a number on your teeth and possibly your insulin response

i won't pick on local honey because ALL honey is equally bad

the only thing good about local honey is that these days it is priced like gold so you are less likely to use it in quantities harmful to teeth and body

another caution, if you actually have any unknown pollen allergies, the honey could be quite dangerous for you, so if you want to use the honey anyway, you MUST see your allergist first and get tested for pollen sensitivities
