6. I have a black cat named Midnight, too.

She was a stray, but older and friendly, so I knew she had had a home at some point (although I never found her home -- I think her person had died). Anyway, I needed to call her something, so I thought, "What do people name black cats?" As soon as I said "Midnight", she came running. :)

He's a glossy, black shorthair, peppered under his front lets (underarms) and on his lower belly (pubic hair!) with longer, white fur. I love him - he's just like me. Aloof and independent most of the time, but when requiring affection, he'll use everything including his claws to get it! Maxi's the best cat.

26. Thank you, devilgrrl. Those cats were at my sister's farm

in Kentucky. We walked outside and there were about 15 black cats all told! Plus the few odd calico/orange or black & white cats. That is about 4 generations of cats there. My other sister and I were just cracking up with all the black cats. Later that evening we were eating dinner inside that glass storm door and we looked out and there were about five of them staring into the house, and all we could see were the 5 sets of yellow eyes, reflecting the room light..as it was dark outside. Too funny and I couldn't get a decent shot because the storm door reflected all the flash.
My cousin said it creeped him out to be watched by a passle of black cats while he ate cheese and crackers.

She does let them have cat food but she keeps them lean and mean, for mousing purposes.

I have a black cat myself. She has 3 white patches on her underside and when she lays on her back she looks like she's wearing a white lace bra and panties.
