HTML questions
Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 01:29 PM by UTUSN
Am trying out some symbols here:

¢

& # 1 6 2 ;

§

& # 1 6 7 ;

©

& # 1 6 9 ;

®

& # 1 7 4 ;

ñ

& # 2 4 1 ;

So my first question will be answered as soon as I press "Post message" - Will the symbols appear (only?) when posting to the internet?

But, what about in a Word (non-internet) document? How do I get things like the n/tilde? ñ

1. Press "Alt" and then type the ASCII code on your keypad.
The ASCII code is the same number as is in the HTML, so for ñ, you would hit Alt-241.

This is if you have a PC, of course. For a Mac, it's different (no ASCII codes involved).

4. Is it working in anything at all?
And are you using your numeric keypad, because it doesn't work with the number row.

5. As in the o.p. only worked with internet (here). O.K., so I wasn't using
the keypad. So we're talking about MS Word Processor document AND E-mail? Do you HOLD the ALT key down, then punch the numbers on the keypad? withOUT the &# and the semi-colon at the end?

I'm going out. Will check back tonight. Thanks for helping.

6. Umm...I think you hit and release Alt.
IIRC, you press and release Alt then then type the numbers on the keypad without the &# or the ;

I'm working on a Mac so I can't try it out here but I am fairly sure that's how you do it on a PC.
