Well not a million dollar, but this is Calgary's One Millionth Resident
As the symbol of Calgary's size and prosperity, it would be hard to find a better representative than nine-pound, 10-ounce Dashiell Waite.
The city's one millionth citizen is a third-generation Calgarian, but mom Jessica is from Saskatchewan. Dad Sean works for a company that supplies data and software to the oil and gas industry.
Dash spent his first day Tuesday in the middle of a media frenzy similar to the spotlight that's been focused lately on his booming hometown.
"I've had the privilege of white hatting many, many people: presidents, prime ministers, the Royal Family. But it's my great pleasure to present this unique white hat," Mayor Dave Bronconnier said, placing a "Calgary 1,000,000" tuque on the baby's head.
