Pookie and the family get dressed up!
For the newbies and occasional Lounge Lizards, Pookie is the name of my big toe. Pookie likes to hang out with the yaks, slackers, and lowlife threadjackers who hang in the Lounge. NSMA likes to spread the nasty rumor that Pookie is a freeper, but don't you believe it! Pookie would nevr vote for anyone who had no 'sole'. ;-)

Here's a pic from the last family outing:

3. I think I saw the little one
at a rave concert last week totally fried on something. I know, the old line about sleeping over at a friends house.

5. Hmm ... I think I originally noted this, too --
NSMA may have a point -- Pookie is a right big toe, after all.

7. Is Pookie wearing a headscarf?
He slightly resembles my old Polish grandma. If she were still alive that is. ;-)

9. Was she named Mary?
Chances are good if she's Polish and Catholic she's got at least one Mary in her name somewhere. It helps when you want to be chosen to crown the statue of Mary with flowers on May day.

BTW, Mary is my middle name, Marie is my mother's middle name and finally, my grandma's middle name was Philomena. We Catholic-born are really just a bunch of closet goddess worshippers.

11. Marie was her middle name LOL
She was born in the US, but her parents immigrated not long before, and she grew up bilingual. So she was American, but hey, I like to bond with fellow Poles! :D

Rosalie was her first name.

15. Oh those wacky Poles
They have so many variations of Mary to stick their poor girl-children with. I was lucky to get Susan; my cousins got names like Helen, Angie, Sophie (which I actually kinda like in it's Polish form Zosia), Teresa, and Anne.

16. She was called Rose
Which I love. Her sister was named Agnes.

Two brothers, given the all-American names of Frank and Joe. :-)

10. Somehow I pictured Pookie as a little dude with a beard.
I think that would make him a real fungi.

21. when I lived in Spain
There were lots of widows, and they wore black from head to toe, scarves to shoes. Many of them were Civil War widows too, at the time the conflict was 40 years past.

Beautiful country, really is. I know about the civil war that happened there. I have to admit :), I envy LPFF for getting to go there this spring but I am happy for her, who gets to see Spain at our age.
