Poll question: How often do you visit GD these days?
Ok, we all know about the flame wars going on there. I try to avoid it, because even when you think you're saying something very innocuous, someone inevitably takes it the wrong way. For me, the response is number 4--it's not worth it, but sometimes something really sets me off and I just can't help myself!

1. I pop in and out
And if there's anything interesting I sit and read and sometimes reply. But I just think the Lounge is more fun that GD overall.

I'm sure it was set up to be that way, but still - I like some fun with my politics.

2. Never!

It's gotten waaaaay too nasty at GD! That's how I discovered the Lounge--not that things don't sometimes get hairy around here, but it's far worse than GD.

4. Well, you can click on Lounge or GD or Latest News--they're all
on the sidebar--the "latest" section mixes all three.

But I can't really say you're doing anything "wrong" if you're happy!

7. I haven't gone there much today but it's not because of the candidate
threads. I'll give you three guesses why I don't have much interest in it in the last day or so. ;)

1.) Too much time spent Christmas shopping

2.) It's friggin windy here in Denver, and I can't concentrate

3.) For some reason I'm thinking of spiders these days

What do I win????????????????

10. skinner is running a poll right now
to consider dividing GD into two forums

GD
GD - 2004 Primary (which would be come General Election 2004)

so far, overwhelming support for the split...

15. It's a good idea--but I fear there will be some cross-over
But it's certainly worth a shot.

16. If they have the ability to set a filter
for the candidate names, it should be automatic..

Who would want to post candidate crap in GD if they could not name their guy

13. i enjoy visiting there
It is my only chance in life to be perceived as fairly moderate and center-of-the-road rather than a crazed weirdo communist as I'm sure so many of my friends perceive me here in the deep South. :-)

17. I will go back after we have a candidate...
Hopefully then we can all focus our ire at shrub rather than each other... Until then I am happy to just hang out here, posting pictures of my kitties, giving encouraging words to people having a hard time, answering silly poll questions and basically just basking in the warm glow of the lounge's humanity.

We got Tucker last year after Calvin's littermate, Hobbes, died from complications from surgery to remove a toy that was stuck in his intestines. Thanks, I like them

20. Sneak in and out
really fast after I check my favorite forums Late Breaking News and the Lounge. I may respond to one post there a day but on the whole I don't go there much because I have to admit..."they are all nuts".

21. GD is meat and potatoes, and the Lounge is dessert!
My forays into GD are always rewarded with a leisurely stay in the Lounge.

GD can make your blood boil, but the Lounge is very grounding and supportive.

23. other
about the same as I always have. I read a lot more than I post, so it's not all that different to me. I read the thread titles, and if it sounds interesting I read posts unless it degenerates into a flame war or I lose interest in the responses.

26. I go just because I like to watch egotistical people
who for some unknown reason think others should give a damn about their uninformed political opinions make jackasses of themselves.

I have yet to see anyone explain why I should take "their" candidate seriously.

Ridiculous.

But, it's like watching the monkeys in the zoo, and it's free.
