I just started in a new job in a call center. Apparently, there is a great need for supervisors in same center, and they are considering two men in my training class for the positions. One of the guys is a real jerk who has a bullying personality. We were working on an excercise for class together and because I misenterpreted something he said, he told me I was "an idiot" and stupid. I let it go (actually told him "I'd been called worse by better") because we've had some real issues in this class (with all the people, not just him) and I didn't want to add to it. I was also sitting beside him and heard him complain that it's ok for people of color to make racist epithets toward whites, but you don't dare say the word "n-" This makes me feel like he's not really going to get along with the racially diverse group of people who work at this call center.
My dilemma is, do I say something about what I've witnessed to management, or just keep my mouth shut and pray he doesn't become my supervisor? As far as him calling me names, if I don't ever have to deal with him outside of training class, I could care less. But I don't want to be working for him and have to deal with that every day.
Some thoughts please?
