5. TMBG vs. XTC--now that's a toughie!
While I think about it, I have to concede that I put XTC over OMD.
--better lyrics
--string arrangements
--nobody in OMD sounds like Paul McCartney
--great recordings right up to the 1990s, and would have produced a lot more in the 1990s if A&M Records was not screwing them out of their royalties.

4. You're mad.
I'm taken aback that anyone would even make the comparison.

OMD is in the same league with....oh, I don't know......Haircut 100.

The early stuff is not bad, "Electricity" comes to mind.

XTC was (is?) one of the finest bands on the planet.

6. Same league as Haircut 100???
No way! "Joan of Arc," "Maid of Orleans," "She's Leaving," the albums "Sugar Tax" and "Dazzle Ships," the list just goes on and on. XTC are okay, you really can't compare the music of XTC to OMD. Maybe XTC to Squeeze or XTC to Talk Talk (post "It's My Life" Talk Talk).
