Scott Adams text adventures.
Not this Scott Adams:

The Scott Adams that wrote the text adventures for the first round of home computers.
Who remembers these classic games? What computer did you have waaaay back when?

I think I had a copy of nearly every one for the good old TRaSh-80 myself...

Anyone still have a copy of ScottFree?

1. Are you talking about interactive fiction?
I played HItcherhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on an XT at work. I kept getting out of bed, going downstairs, stepping outside, and getting hit by a bulldozer over and over again.

You have to lie down in front of the bulldozer. Do pick up your mail and buy a cheese sandwich at the pub, too.

The Infocom set of text adventure games was ultimately more successful. I remember solving 'Leather Goddesses of Phobos', the first two Zorks, and 'Wishbringer'.
