Oct 15th, 1987: "Earlier on today, apparently, a woman rang the BBC...
...and said she heard there was a hurricane on the way. Well, if you're watching, don't worry, there isn't".

That night, hurricane force 2 winds hit southern England.

However this quote is always taken out of context, referring to the hurricane off the Florida coast... and not mentioning he did say batten down the hatches that there is a storm coming to southern England.

Anyone got any other amusing or memorable misquotes?

Mark.
