Poll question: Uniforms - yes or no?
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 06:26 PM by skygazer
Seems like some people get really excited about uniforms - either wearing them or seeing others in them. I'm interested in people's opinions.

edited to clarify - I'm speaking of adult's uniforms, as in those worn for a job. Also military, police, firefighter, EMT, etc. Not school type uniforms.

2. Excellent question
For adults - uniforms worn for jobs or military, police, firefighter, EMT uniforms, etc. I will edit the OP. Thanks. :hi:

4. when i was a hippie i despised uniforms, i thought --
then i was exposed to some wild times in san diego in balboa park with some boys in uniform.

and voila -- i like/love uniforms.

now that is not saying i want to be best friends with some one who wears a uni - i don't particularly.

but it's that whole subversion thing that gets me -- and ooohhh does it get me.

5. Not really an issue with my current job.
I can (and do!) wear jeans sometimes, but usually opt for "business casual" attire. Plus, khakis are a bit cooler in the summer.

When I worked a factory gig, I was happy that we had uniforms. I didn't care one way or another about, well, uniformity, but it was nice to not get my own clothes filthy every day.

For schoolkids, it's a whole different discussion. I can see positives AND negatives to wearing a uniform to school. I don't like the stifling of personal expression, but at least it helps to blur the chasm between the rich kids and the poor kids. That wasn't so much of an issue at my old school, as we were mostly all poor kids. The rich kids went to the catholic school.

6. I like uniforms, especially on men.
I wouldn't say I like them so much it's a FETISH or anything but yeah, I definitely noticed the three UPS guys at lunch today. :)
