1. Should be a fun fight
I think Silva is too much for Chuck, but it'll be interesting to watch.

2. Damn....
...Ortiz is such a prick, but I can't say I'm surprised by the result. I guess Shamrock will have to be satisfied with cleaning his clock at pool.

4. I knew I shouldn't have clicked on here
Spoiled it for myself.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Cool news about Silva vs Liddell though.

Personally, I think Wanderlei is going to destroy him. What's the deal with this fight? Is it UFC or Pride rules? How is it set up?

7. sorry, should have warned...
a very lackluster card, except for the Silva announcement. The stipulation is that Chuck must defeat Babalu in the next PPV.

9. Nah. I take full responsibility for the spoiler.
I went against my instincts and paid for it.

I've never seen Babalu fight before. What kind of style does he have?

10. i believe he is trained by the Gracie team...
submission/ground control style. he has lost to Liddell before some years ago, but has recently been on a tear.

His shot better be pretty good, Liddell has some insane takedown def.

5. Ortiz-Shamrock was a very early ref stoppage
and the crowd was not happy! Ortiz took Shamrock down and landed about 5 quick elbows to his face when Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight. Shamrock jumped up and was amazed that the fight had been ended. Ortiz was obviously on his way to victory, but the stoppage appeared to be very premature.

The Sylvia-Arlovski title fight was very disappointing as well. Both fighters were being so cautious that it became a relatively uneventful fight. It didn't go to the ground once!

The Burkman-Neer fight was very good! Some great slams by Burkman!

Frank Mir still doesn't look like his old self, just barely getting by Dan Christison.

Joe Stevenson got a huge victory by defeating Yves Edwards. Edwards was bleeding very badly from a gash on his head, and the match had to be stopped after the second round.

They showed the final moments of "Snowman" Jeff Monson's victory over Perosh. On a side note, Monson's politics just might be to the left of most DUers! He considers himself an "anarchist" but a lot of his views are very liberal. I think one of his tattoos is of a figure holding a gun to another figure's head with the word "Capitalism" under it. Sylvia mentioned Monson in his post-fight interview, so it looks like there could be a Sylvia-Monson fight in the works. What will be interesting is that Sylvia is exactly one foot taller than Monson!

Liddell-Silva should be a great match! I'm looking forward to that one!

6. I saw the UFC reality show once
a couple of weeks ago, I think it's on Spike TV?

Wow, what a disappointing fight. The fighters seemed to be poorly conditioned. The wrestler refused to go to ground with the jiujitsu guy so he boxed the whole time. It turned into a poor boxing match with periods of slow-mo wrestling. If all MMA contests are like this, I can't say it's terribly interesting.

12. Most MMA is very entertaining!
There are some disappointing or boring fights, like in any other sport. But, on the whole, MMA is the greatest sport in the world IMO.
