Good Friday Morning, Crew!
Edited on Fri Jul-07-06 05:36 AM by Clintmax

:hi::donut:
Welcome to the Friday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: Thank you for joining me today! We made it to Friday! :woohoo: One work shift until the weekend begins, my crew! I hope you have plans for a lot of R&R the next two days. How was your day yesterday? Mine was really busy, and stayed that way all the way up until I locked the doors for the night. Even during a big thunderstorm, we were packed!

We're kind of expecting our District Manager to visit today. Our General Manager is coming back from vacation today, so I'm glad about that. We'll just wait and see if she does come.

So, are you ready to get this day started with me? I hope so because it's time to rise and shine! :bounce: Let's get this 7th of July started right! :woohoo:

12. I suppose I did.
The familiar sound of cat puking at 5:15 will do it. Sabrina even walks up and down the halls announcing it before she does it. It was sort of nice when we first moved in and they were too stressed to groom themselves. Now they're back at it and she's a SUPER groomer.

Oh yeah, and Sashka cried at the bedroom door because she said she was lonely. I didn't let them in last night to sleep with me because I was hoping they'd let me sleep in if they couldn't get to me. Of course, now that I'm up and they're fed and happy, they're all settled down again.

Did you ever get your laundry done?

By the way, your drying-out order worked at about 10:00 yesterday morning. I'm amazed at how fast it worked! So I went to town and did the rest of my shopping/returning. Good to get that over with. I got seriously gassed though -- seems like Thursday is wear-the-whole-bottle-of-perfume day and EVERYONE in the store was marinated in it. x(

19. Yuck! I hate that sound!
You're right...that IS enough to wake you up and keep you up for the rest of the day. We keep Tony in the bedroom with us all night because he would just whine and cry at the door if we didn't. Yes, we got the laundry done, so that's taken care of for a few days now, thank goodness!

Wow! I'm amazed the dry order worked too! :bounce: I didnt realize I had that much control over the weather like that! Maybe I do other things too! What should we ask for next?

I've had days when everybody who came in smelled as though they swam in cologne too, and I hate it also.

I'm glad you got the laundry done! Gold star for you! :yourock: Harleydad is bringing his laundry up so I can hang it on the line for him. Nevermind that he has enough clothes here so that he doesn't really have to bring any at all.

Harleydad's orchid survived the move. Check it out ... ain't it beautimous?

39. OK, now don't delete it.
 Thanks. :D :bounce:

We only brought a few plants with us ... the ones we thought had half a chance and were already in pots (or on a cork). Five of them are orchids, but two of them had already blossomed in FL and the other two are still trying to get happy living with us -- they've never looked very good. This particular one goes nuts when it decides to blossom, which is at least a few times per year. (Well, it was that often in FL.) I'm not sure how do deal with the winter yet because I'm pretty sure they have to be brought inside and I'm an expert at killing houseplants.

I'm still waiting for you to bring your clothes to put on the line. Good thing you didn't come earlier this week, though, or they would've stayed wet.

Our's is only about 4 months old and has always worked like a charm. I think the cable company said, "Hmm, 6:30 AM ... people aren't awake yet, so we can mess around for a bit. Let's see what happens if I pull this out ... Hey, why are the phones ringing off the hook all of a sudden?" Seems to be working fine now.

You'd better get yourself a new router before yours bites the dust completely. You don't want us all wandering around in our jammies wondering how to start our morning, do you?

Of course, I did think you'd to it on Sunday, since that's when you don't usually do a morning thread. I mean, you wouldn't want to risk it not working for that, right? On the other hand, if you go early enough on Monday (AFTER we've all changed out of our jammies), perhaps you can get it working by Tuesday morning and no one will be the wiser ... except that you'll be doing super lightning-fast responses and we'll all assume you're just typing faster than ever. (What IS in this coffee? :silly:)

93. Yeah, and I know who!
You see, Satchmo eats VERY slowly. So I was running interference for him while Sophie and Sabrina were trying to steal his food. Normally, Sashka would be first in line for that trick, but she was eating unusually slowly. I think her job was to wait in the middle of the kitchen while I was at the other end making sure Satchmo got enough to eat. Then, while Sophie and Sabrina got my full attention, Sashka jumped up onto the counter and did the dirty deed. Then, suddenly, Sophie and Sabrina no longer had any interest in Satchmo's breakfast and quietly walked away, whistling to themselves. Sounds plausible to me.

10. Oh, you know it.
Maybe I'll catch up on stuff I'm behind on.

Monday, I have class and Tuesday afternoon I have to go to Greensboro to help my friend - who had a cancerous tumor on his leg - home from the hospital after they cut out so more of his leg to make sure they got it all. He had a MRI and chest X-Ray and everything is clear, so it seems it did not spread, but he DID have a rare cancer, one that just sits on top of other cells, muscles or fat, etc.
He is pretty big and so his wife will not be able to handle getting him home, so I am going to help.

You thought a big thunderstorm would keep people away? Heck, I had people get cheesed if we closed down because of a raging blizzard! Darn fools will go shopping even if they have to risk their lives to do it.

As for my day yesterday, after I got up and got ready for the day I did laundry, had dinner then sat down and began reading a book I picked up at the library. The Hijacking of Jesus: How the Religious Right Distorts Christianity and Promotes Prejudice and Hate - by Dan Wakefield. It's an in-depth history of how the whackjobs have taken over the country and what their full agenda is, and it's downright scary. :scared: I had my suspicions about some of the stuff I'm reading about here, but now I know I wasn't just having paranoid delusions. These people are out for blood--figuratively and literally.

You're right about people shopping even if they have to risk their lives to do it! We had big blizzards in Springfield and people would still be trying to get to the store. I never understood it.

Sounds like an interesting book you have there. Interesting and scary! :scared:

By the way...when you post a link, instead of the address showing up, yours has just the name, and I've seen people post a link that simply says "Click here". How do you DO that? I'd like to be able to do that with the links to the videos of the song of the day.

As I suspected their agenda against gays goes way beyond making gay marriage illegal. They also want to completely eradicate gay rights, particularly the laws that make discrimination against us illegal!

As to links, I can't post an actual example here because it will just post as a link. I tried several times and ways.

The instructions are in the HTML lookup table you can click on when you go to post a message (look beside "Message options"). They are the first instructions at the top of the table.

24. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

All's going well here, for some reason I woke up a couple of times in the night...I got no idea why, and I soon got back to sleep each time.

Sorry to hear that things were busy for you, I hope that it's calmer today.

I've had nights where I woke up for no apparent reason too. I hate those because most of the time I can't get back to sleep for a LONG time. In other words, once I'm up, I'm up. I hope it's calmer too, but I wouldn't count on it.

31. Good morning, Clint!
Well, yesterday I found out I had to put off my vacation next week due to some projects at work that must be attended to. So, that bummed me out a bit. :-(

But I hope the weekend will be relatively nice. As I most certainly hope yours and everyone's will be. :-)

I am doing OK. Weekend is coming. Tomorrow evening B and I will go to an event here in Frankurt. Kind of a festival of the museums. Other than that nothing is planned.

83. If you listened to the whole CD,
you'd be convinced that he has at least 3 or 4 cats! His song, Fory Miles from Albany, is hilarious ... and something I could really relate to when I was driving up here. It's about traveling with cats.

There's the key ... Octavia loved to sit IN the open door. Not inside, not outside, just right in the doorway. Yep, that would be mine, if I ever let them out.

They used Cherubino's canzonetta from Marriage of Figaro for "Oy, Chuck and Katie" ... a song about how kids are really messy compared to cats. It's pretty funny. Of course, I loaned my CD to a friend once and she told me it was "cheesy".

I gathered that she didn't understand the music (or didn't like opera).

OK, here's a teaser ... the one I mentioned from Marriage of Figaro.

Oy, Chuck and Katie,
Why must you throw your food?
So irritating! Extremely rude!
Children, you must learn from cats
a much nicer attitude!

Let me think ... I don't remember any from Carmen. They do The Cats of Cash, though.
