I am thinking of all the girls I loved before. Back in 1969-75. Yours?
Just listening to some music from back in the day. Your day may have been the '50s, or perhaps the '90s. Mine was definitely the early '70s. Tonight, it's Lou Rawls. Tomorrow, it will be something else. And you like me will always remember the sweet smell and gentle touch of her hair, whether in 1973 (Clairol Herbal Essence) or 2003. Always. With deepest respect, eternal memory, a sense of ennui and a little lust that is less than it once was, this is a thank you at DU to all the girls I loved before. There were many July nights under a full moon once. And never, ever, enough in anyone's life. Glad to see another one, and to be reminded of those past. Wow.

1. I love that pic. It was on the wall in my first semester study hall
this past year. (The study hall was in the photography room.)

4. You may be younger, but this is eternal. Portland is great.
I love Portland, Maine, and as a matter of fact, in 1995, I met the woman there who is my (probably last) love. And I move in two weeks after all these years to be with her, in Maryland. Small world, eh? I envy you for just getting started, and I have work to do to see that your world provides kisses, and not insane and unjust wars. I pledge to do my part. You be judicious but true in your kisses.

5. Portland is beautiful.
I live about 15 mins south of it, but still a fair 20-30 mins north of *'s mansion in Kennebunkport. Good spot.

12. Yep. Bridges span the Willamette River and the Columbia River.
Willamette runs north/south, Columbia is east/west.

2. To all the boys I've loved before -- with apologies to Willie Nelson
Edited on Thu Jul-06-06 08:35 PM by Radio_Lady

I'm a woman from a different era, but this is the photo that tells it all.

To all the boys I've loved before
Who travelled in and out my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the boys I've loved before
To all the boys I once caressed
And may I say I've held the best
For helping me to grow
I owe a lot I know
To all the boys I've loved before
The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just carry me away

To Albert, Chuck, Richard, Peter, Larry, Henry, Stan and too many more to mention and now forgotten. And, to my sweet husband, Al, for helping me to see what is really important in a long-term relationship. It takes STAMINA and COURAGE and lots of love, you bet!

In peace,

Radio_Lady

7. Another great pic. Maybe what we need now is a DU best kisses thread.
There have most assuredly been worse threads on DU. Methinks Rhett told Scarlett that she needed to be kissed. Don't we all.

6. I'm thinking about all the boys and men I've loved.......
Each one contributed to the next.........

And helped make the next one possible...

They all had something in common, and many things not..........

But the biggie? I loved all of them.....

And they all live in my heart, and always will...

And I will carry these loves into the future, beyond death........

This is the night. It's a beautiful night. And we call it Bella Notte.

19. You're being so sweet.
All I can do tonight is have a great memory of snorting champagne up my nose over a friend's first dance at her wedding.

Nothing romantic here.

22. are the stars out or something?
I've been thinking all evening of the one I never got over, long ago. We were just never in the right phase at the same time. When we met, we were both attached. Then I was unattached. Then when he became unattached, I was seeing someone. Then when I became unattached, he was seeing someone. And then I moved 3,000 miles away. I guess it's a "Harry Met Sally" kind of story. Except there wasn't a happy ending. I was going through a box of papers tonight and found some notes. Ouch.
