Good Thursday Morning, Crew!

:hi::donut:
Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I hope you made it over the Hump Day completely unscathed! I have a couple of near misses but was able to turn the problem around before it became a complete freaking mess, so I'm happy about THAT! And so now that THAT day is over, we can look forward to our last two (or in my case last three) shifts before we have some time off again! :bounce:

Tony thought it would be a marvelous idea for me to get up this morning at 4:45 instead of my normal 5am so he began to lick my face and armpit (which tickles like freaking crazy!) until I finally relented and got my little butt out of bed! And so now he's happily sleeping on the kitchen floor, fairly pleased with himself! Dogs are crazy sometimes.

The crazy Clearance Sale continues at my store and I just cannot keep the place organized. x( People go into this "scatter everything" mode when they see a clearance sale and it's a constant struggle to keep my aisles open so people can get through them. By law, we're supposed to have 36 inches between them for wheelchairs, but I find product formally on a shelf, now presented on the floor, and have to pick it up over and over again. x( I hate this. I'm not used to my store looking all unorganized like this. So, I'll just have to work even harder to make sure it is.

So, are you ready for this 29th of June? It's here. And it's time to get it started! :bounce: So, rise and shine, my crew!

Sounds like "fun" at work for you - why do people seem to lose all sense of decent behaviour when things are on sale?

All's good here - the office is now calming down, the deadline was extended to ten this morning and was then narrowly missed...but I think that just about everything's been done now. :eyes:

I'm glad your office is calming down now! I hate it when its all crazy like that. Yes, people are strange like that...I guess they think if there's a big sale in progress, it's okay to toss things in a hundred different directions. I wish they'd get over that!

Do you catch the train at the start?

When I travel north I get on right at the beginning (in London) so I can normally grab a seat without too much problem at all - but then coming back it's normally started off in Aberdeen or somewhere faaaaaar away.

83. I believe the train comes from the South
Frankfurt is definitely not the first stop. Normally I get me a reservation and for Friday I had a seat. But since I only got me the ticket for this train yesterday, all seats were occupied already, I want to go to the desk today at the trainstation and see if something is possible. Otherwise I have to sit in the gangway. And that for 50 Euro (which is only half of the normal price, thanks to a 50% card).

Oh, that sounds like a stressful job right now. I bet the days are flying by though.

I'm spending much of my time at the hospital and arranging for babysitters and ways to get my daughter to class. Things are going well for my dad. I hate seeing him hurt so much, but I'm so glad the surgery went so well and that they didn't have to take his whole kidney.

MrG ran through the house like a crazy chicken. Needless to say there was stuff in the fridge that belonged in the cupboard and so on...

Here's the way it works:

30 - 34 = EARLY thirties
35 - 37 = Middle thirties
38 & 39 = Late thirties

So, technically, he still IS in his early 30's!

87. Morning MissH
So you're off to Berlin right after work? Yes, a four hour train ride seems a bit long, but think of all the reading that you'll get done. I just started a new book "King Leopold's Ghost", you know, the Belgium king who plundered the Congo in the early 1800s.

Glad to tell you that I'm off for a long weekend too. Leaving on Saturday for the Twin Cities to visit my best friend. We always have a great time together. One thing we plan to do is visit the Institute of Arts http://www.artsmia.org . There's some wonderful exhibits we both want to see.

The 4 hours itself aren't the problem. The problem is not to have a seat. I do have a book to read: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1582346038/sr=8-1/qid=1151581325/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-4876150-6377510?ie=UTF8 )

16. Good morning Clint!
Man did I hate the way customers would trash the store when I worked in retail. We'd work so hard to get everything in order and looking nice, then they'd come along and just destroy it. I don't understand why people have so little respect for property not their own. Whenever I go shopping I put things back exactly where I found them, and if I find things on the floor I'll pick them up and put them where they belong if I can find the place, or at least on a shelf so they don't get stepped on. Particularly in book stores I find myself straightening up as I shop (they must love me when I come in ).

I'm downloading the new Dixie Chicks album right now off of RealPlayer. I have no idea what it sounds like but not only is every sale they make going to piss off the RW, but I got it for $6.99 (RP is having a special right now-- 69 cents per song and $6.99 per album).

Now if only my drugs would kick in and get rid of these cramps and this migraine. x(

24. Good Morning, Miss Buffy!
:hi::hug:
I clean up things while I shop too. It's almost automatic for me. Greekspeak sees me doing it tells me to quit "zoning". We have shopping to do! I don't know why people have so little respect like that too. I keep wanting to go up to someone moving stuff around and say; "Excuse me...do I come into YOUR place of business and move things around or throw things on the floor? We'd appreciate the same consideration here thank you!" But I can't (and keep my job), so I keep quiet and just resent it.

I subscribe to Rhapsody, so I have access to hundreds of thousands of songs and albumns! It's $25.00 every three months, and well worth it in my book!

45. Rhapsody is actually a service of RealPlayer
I just get songs piecemeal from RP (typically 99 cents each, or if I get an entire album at once it's usually about $9.99). They've got plenty of songs and I don't have to worry about wasting subscription fees if I don't download anything for a long period of time.

48. You're right.
They ARE a service of Real Player. But I don't use their download service. I stream the songs I want to hear anytime. I love it, myself!

55. Well, with dial-up I can't stream anything
So Rhapsody would be of no use to me. I'll have to stick to downloading the songs until I get something better. Can you put songs on a CD with Rhapsody?

58. Yep. You sure can.
They're 89 cents a piece. You select the songs you want, put them into the burner window, then burn away! I can see how dial-up wouldn't work. I haven't tried to use Rhapsody on anything other than broadband, but I can imagine it would be slow as hells!

22. Howdy Clintmax!
"Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?
Come on, now.
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts,
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I can't explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
Ok.
Just a little pinprick.
There'll be no more ...Aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working. Good.
That'll keep you going for the show.
Come on it's time to go.
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb. "

:donut: :hi:

I'm a little late getting going this morning. The kitties wanted me to get up at 5:00, so I shut them out of the room and slept a bit later than usual. :D Tony must have taken lessons from them.

How long does the clearance sale last? Sounds like a real pain! x(

I washed my car yesterday, vacuumed the inside, and treated the leather. By the time I rubbed FOREVER trying to get all the bugs off (they still didn't come off), I was too tired to do any more. I'm going to get some of that bug remover stuff that harleydad doesn't like to use.

Oh, and I did laundry ... EVERYTHING! And I hung it all up on the line. Now I have stiff jeans and shirts. :bounce: I'm loving this clothesline!

Don't know what today holds. I'm pretty tired and might have to just take it easy.

I was wondering where you were! I don't blame you for shutting the kitties out and sleeping longer today. I should have done that with Tony, but just got up anyway. Sounds like you had a pretty full day, yesterday. I'm sure you're tired after all that. I have a mobile detailing service come wash and wax MY car. We don't have a spigot anywhere near the apartment building, so I'd have to go to an automatic car wash place (HATE those) or have them come to me, so I elect to have them come to me! :bounce:

The clearance sale continues until it's all gone! It's selling like crazy, so hopefully it won't last TOO much longer, but we still have lots, so we'll see! :loveya:

I've never had anyone do my car except for me or harleydad. Sure would be a treat! Can't take my car through a car wash b/c it's a convertible, so it always has to be done by hand. But I think we waited too long to try to get the bugs off. I swear, they're part of the finish now! :scared:

I sure hope life gets back to normal for you soon. I hate clearance sales ... I like things too neat to be able to find stuff in all the piles.

Oh, yeah, harleydad wants pictures so I might have to take some today if I get enough energy. Then I have to install the photo programs onto the MacBook ... sounds like too much work. We'll see. But if I do get that far, I'll post some.

I already found and Autozone close by, so I might go in there today to see what I can find. Somehow, I doubt anyone would come out to the house ... we're about 15 miles outside of town.

Harleykid is going to take me shoe shopping this weekend. My walking shoes are shot, so I can't get back on my treadmill until I get new ones. We're going to the drive-in, too, to see Cars. I haven't been to a drive-in since she was a baby! We saw Star Wars ... LONG time ago.

79. Morning Clint!
Yes, pets certainly can be entertaining. My cat begs me to get out of bed in the morning, especially when I want to sleep in. I feel guilty b/c I think she's starving although she always has a dish of dry food around. So when I get out of bed and feed her, she just sniffs at it and walks away, content that I'm up to keep her company I guess.

I know what you mean about people trashing the store, especially during sales. I worked in retail over a holiday break, and not only would people trash the place, they were so very rude. Can't understand that.

I've got the next five days off, and am heading to the Twin Cities on Saturday to visit a girl friend. I'm really looking forward to seeing my friend and leaving town for a few days. We always have such fun together.

So, you have a live-in armpit cleaner - very rare. Gabby has decided that she has to announce (in different meows) each nap position change, every trip to the food and water bowls and, of course, the litter box. Lots of nocturnal announcements around here. Wish she'd keep this info on a need to know basis. :hangover:
