What is "success"?
How do you define it?

1. Acheiving you goals, whatever they are
concerning family, friends, career, money - in that order

2. Contentment
To be happy with your life at this moment. To have the love you want, the work you want, and to be the kind of person you want to be. It's not about "stuff" or materialism. It's about self-satisfaction and striving to be a better person, personally and globally.

3. I consider myself a success
I am by no means wealthy, but DH and I own oour home, work for ourselves, we are able to pay our bills (just barely sometimes, but at least we can pay them), we have two dependable cars, and, most importantly... I have my kids and my DH, the loves of my life. Now, if we could just get a Democrat back in the White House...

4. To have enough money to be able to spend all my time doing art
and not having to prostitute myself to the corporate culture. (As you can probably tell, I'm not there yet but ... hopefully soon.) The older (and wiser) I get, the more I realize that my parents were right about success - it's about being able to be true to yourself, not whether you live in the biggest house or drive the fanciest car.

6. to me, it's simply . . .
being in a position to control my own life . . . the option of making my own decisions about what I want to do and the ability to then do it . . . not having to report to a "boss" is a large part of that, imo, and I'm fortunate that I've managed to get to that point in my life . . . so, though my bank account may be empty, my heart is full and my soul enriched, because all the decisions are mine . . . as are the results of those decisions -- good, bad, or indifferent . . . I own my life, and that to me is the height of success . . .

8. Success is peace of mind. . .
which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.
