6. Honey never goes bad outside of a refrigerator, either, though
as long as the moisture content is below 18%, it's naturally antibiotic and resistant to spoilage; it just crystallises.

13. What if the beer's bad to begin with?
Like Budweiser.

Something can't "go bad" if it's already that way.

18. I have actually had hot sauce get hotter over time.
Had one that was warm but, it got to the back of the fridge and did not see for a few months and then got it out again. That stuff would take your head off. I have never had hot sauce that was that hot, when before it was ok.

25. I wonder what causes it to become more concentrated..
maybe over time the full flavor and heat come out? Luckily for me, I only eat the mild stuff and that goes pretty fast..it's my kids fiery stuff that sits in there forever. I actually think one bottle's been in there for a year. I'm under strict orders not to dispose of it..even if he only uses it every few months.

20. Small children are already bad if they're in the fridge.
At least in our household they are. However we're not mean, we ask 'em what they want and give it to them. Usually they're raiding carrots, hotdogs or cheese slices. Or water. (Curiously my son loves the stuff).

Mark.

It's an emulsion that sort of defines disgusting. I don't care how processed the egg yolks are, that crap is going bad before too long.

17. Mayonnaise Eating Record
Mayonnaise
4 32-ounce bowls mayonnaise
8 minutes
Oleg Zhornitskiy

The next time you feel so sick after a meal on campus that you need to induce vomiting, think about this: Oleg Zhornitskiy once ate 128 ounces of mayonnaise in eight minutes to win a “competitive eating” contest.

“Mayonnaise is tough,” George Shea, Chair of the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) told ESPN.com in 2002. “I like to say he was using the spoon God gave him. He was spooning it out of a bowl and licking it up with his tongue.”

Check, please.

30. Several sauces and condimets
Low pH, high salt, low water activity, and the presence of antimicrobial spices can mean a a safe product for years, especially when stored in glass bottles. Some plastics start to break down under those conditions within a couple of years.

33. I believe we have a winner, however
I wouldn't want to bake biscuits, pancakes or a cake with baking soda that sat open in my refrigerator for very long.

Too much aromatic stuff in there for that.
