Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 04:24 AM by northwest
And Shrub is at 7 percent. How the HELL he obtained 7 PERCENT in my book is something I don't understand.

But Kucinich can't win, and Dean's got the momentum. That's why I'm a Deanite.

And what's all this Lyndon LaRouche stuff? I'm constantly hearing that he's a fraud, a nutcase, and a racist, so I'm curious to know how come he scored so high for so many of us! Maybe someone can tell me more about him.

28. Re: L.H.L.
He *is* a fraud and nutcase (I doubt the racist accusation though), but when you take his positions on individual issues he is an ultraliberal on economic issues and an ultraconservative on social issues. So if you selected all the right liberal positions on economic issues as I did he will come out in the 40-50% range.

I'm wondering more about Carol Moseley-Braun and why she is scoring so low? What's the story here, is she a closet Lieberman Democrat, or (more likely) does the SelectSmart quiz not have her positions accurately represented in the quiz?

26. Here it is
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 03:54 PM by ldoolin
1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (52%)
2. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat (75%) (4)
3. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (71%) (1)
4. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat (65%) (2)
5. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (60%) (3)
6. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (58%) (5)
7. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (51%) (6)
8. Gephardt, Rep. Dick, MO - Democrat (51%) (9 - was 3 until the anti-Dean ads started running)
9. LaRouche, Lyndon H. Jr. - Democrat (50%) (8)
10. Lieberman, Senator Joe, CT - Democrat (39%) (10)
11. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol, IL - Democrat (35%) (7)
12. Libertarian Candidate (33%) (never)
13. Bush, President George W. - Republican (16%) (never)
14. Phillips, Howard - Constitution (10%) (never)

Pretty accurate with regards to the ones on top and the three on the bottom. What I wanna know is how "your ideal theoretical candidate" only agrees with me 52% of the time - is that 52% an average for all the candidates? And how Moseley-Braun ranks *below* Lieberman - do they have her positions accurately represented in the quiz?

(On edit: My actual order of preference in parentheses)

27. Big surprise. Not.
This is the second one of these things I've taken. Both came up with DK in the top position.

Thanks anyway, I'd rather vote for someone with a chance of winning, someone who, upon installation, will be able to get some legislation passed. 85% for Clark is good enough for me.

I still support Dean (Clark for VP).
Kucinich would be a great president, but the only way to get him elected, well... ummm, cant think of anything. Damn

On edit: How the hell'd I get 11% for Shrub???? THIS TEST IS WRONG!

I support Gephardt because of labor and trade issues. If Kucinich could win in the South, I'd consider supporting him, but I don't think he can, unfortunately, from what I've seen.

52. IT'S A TIE!! I'M PANICKED!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!
Dean 82%
Clark 82%
Moseley-Braun 80%
Kucinich 79%

I've been a Dean Supporter all along. But now I find out it's a theorectical tie between Dean & Clark.

My method of tie-breaking in the past has always been to go alphabetically. I have no choice but to switch my pick to Clark.
