as we wait for debates that matter on the elections to begin. Some of us get bored arguing for the 6000th time over whether Dean or Edwards would make a better candidate. We hang out here, let the newcomers or those who just like such squabbles take over GD, and we debate petty stuff like Rachel Ray or Tom Cruise while we wait for issues to get serious again.

That's how I use it, anyway. I still check out GD, and jump into any discussion that seems relevant. I just don't care to discuss the JFK assassination six times a day, or hear the fifty different ways someone can manipulate Ann Coulter's name to insult her, or hear people try for the most disgusting butt-kissing imagery they can dream up. GD is for frivilous name calling and bathroom humor, too often. When it gets relevant, I go there.
