Do any of you know how famous magic tricks were done?
For example, how did David Copperfield make the Statue of Liberty disappear? And how did he fly (yes, fly)?

What do you know and what do you think?

Peace,

1. Statue of Liberty = mirrors
Flying = cables.

Both tricks only work well if you're either sitting in exactly the right spot, or watching on television.

2. Flying = Cables? Nope... did you see it?
That is what I thought at first... but he also "flew" into and around large hula-hoop type rings... he also "flew" into several clear glass boxes and had the lid shut. I know it is just a trick, but I don't think it was with cables...

Peace,

3. No, it was with cables.
The hula hoops and boxes were the trick.

4. Hmmm... so I was looking at the wrong "trick" ...
... its like they say... it's misdirection, not magic...

Just so you know I am not a TOTAL f*cking moron, I laughed all the way through Pen and Teller's "catch a speeding bullet in your mouth trick" ...

... now THAT is one magic trick where I am amazed that it amazes people...

Also, people who work at magic shops hate me... I always figure out how the trick is done...

Peace,

5. Yes, well that's why televised magic tricks are so phony.
They can get away with simple stuff like forced perspective.

8. Does anyone know how David Blaine does some of his...
... freaky card tricks? Is it simply gifted, super fast hands that some people have? Or is there more to the story?

Peace,

6. I can't remember the specifics,
but I think it had something to do with a rotating stage.

I'll be darned- I remembered correctly:

7. Duh, pact with Satan:

Remember, kids, if you don't understand it, it's because Satan did it. Or God.
