But, you're *not* a girl! You're a *guy*
Saw the Billy Wilder interview last night on TCM, and have not been able to get Some Like it Hot out of my mind. Which is not a bad thing...

Joe: But, you're *not* a girl! You're a *guy*, and, why would a guy wanna marry a guy?
Jerry: Security!

1. Well...
...nobody's perfect!

There is actually a musical of this movie...I saw it in local theater a few years ago. Not too good, but then how could anything compare? I believe that this is the funniest movie of all time.

3. How funny!
I hadn't heard of the musical, but I bet it could be jazzed up to be a hit.

2. One of the greatest comedies ever
The "maracas" scene is classic!

"You can't marry Osgood!"
"Why, you think he's too old for me?"

"I know there's a problem!"
"I'll say!"
"His mother. But I'm not worried, because I don't smoke!"

"Of course they're real! What do you think? My fiance is a bum?"

6. Interestingly, the NYT didn't give it a glowing review when it first came
While searching for the image in my OP, I came across their original review, and they described it as uneven - screamingly funny bits mixed into a not-well-made mixture. So what the hell did they know!

7. And what a cast they had!
Not only the stars, Curtis, Lemmon and Monroa, but a stellar supporting cast with George Raft and Pat O'Brien. Not to mention the open-minded Osgood, Joe E. Brown!

8. True
I don't think there was a poor or off-kilter actor in the whole bunch.
