Name your favorite palindrome!
Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 01:13 PM by catbert836
A palindrome, for those who live under rocks, are words, phrases, sounds, numbers, or genetic code that are read the same way frontwards as they are backwards.

Here's mine: Won't cat lovers revolt? Act now!

And I'll have you know that I live under a rock. We under the rocks do not appreciate getting sniped at by you above-ground dwellers. We love our perfectly respectable beneath-the-rock world. We only come out every once in a while, when we have to. And we know lots of palindromes. We adore palindromes. We write our palindromes in our diaries and memorize them so we'll have something to recite in our heads during the tail-end of sub-par sexual encounters, (with you above-ground types) that's how we adore them. In fact, just where do you live above the ground that is so much better than under a rock? It's by a yucky highway, isn't it?

5. Doppelganger- A Symmetry-by-words poem
by James A. Lindon

Entering the lonely house with my wife
I saw him for the first time
Peering furtively from behind a bush --
Blackness that moved,
A shape amid the shadows,
A momentary glimpse of gleaming eyes
Revealed in the ragged moon.
A closer look (he seemed to turn) might have
Put him to flight forever --
I dared not
(For reasons that I failed to understand),
Though I knew I should act at once.
I puzzled over it, hiding alone,
Watching the woman as she neared the gate.
He came, and I saw him crouching
Night after night.
Night after night
He came, and I saw him crouching,
Watching the woman as she neared the gate.
I puzzled over it, hiding alone --
Though I knew I should act at once,
For reasons that I failed to understand
I dared not
Put him to flight forever.
A closer look (he seemed to turn) might have
Revealed in the ragged moon.
A momentary glimpse of gleaming eyes
A shape amid the shadows,
Blackness that moved.
Peering furtively from behind a bush,
I saw him for the first time,
Entering the lonely house with my wife.
